You see that dip in global life expectancy in the 1950s?
That was caused by one man, Mao Zedong.
Mbappe should have apologised only for not being ruder about him.

🚨226 children, some as young as 11 years old, are about to be given £500 worth of shopping vouchers by the UK Government in order to undertake a puberty blockers trial, placing them on a pathway to infertility.
This is the medical scandal of our time.

Horrified to hear what’s happened to my good friend Ran Fiennes. I’d like to tell the relevant authorities everything I know about the way he’s been treated. He’s the world’s bravest man, and he’s vulnerable. We must know what’s happening to him.

If true, this is hugely concerning. The UK is losing access to frontier models right at the point where recursive self-improvement (AIs using AI to make the next AIs even more capable) could be kicking in, and huge advances are being made - with huge risks. This jeopardises British national security.
The government must explore all diplomatic options to retain access to the frontier, including rapidly building secure compute that our allies can verify and trust.
The FT reports that UKAISI did not get pre-release access to Mythos 5.1. I sincerely hope this is not a harbinger of a bigger trend. If UKAISI loses pre-release access to frontier American models, America and the UK will be poorer for it. UKAISI is the best equipped government-housed technical AI safety and evaluation outfit anywhere and offers significant value to the USG (e.g., through joint testing) and to the frontier companies themselves, supporting deployment decisions and understanding the capabilities and risks of Chinese AI models.

Who told schools to close for tomorrow’s funeral?
Closing schools to “protect” children sends a terrible message: we’ve lost control and law-abiding people must work around the lawbreakers.
That is 100% wrong.

🚨Waitrose erases womanhood🚨
A whistleblower from Waitrose has just leaked an internal document to me, in which senior leaders have pledged to remove the name ‘feminine care’ from sanitary products, on the basis that “not all people who have periods are women”.
Disgraceful.

I'd really like to know when the @Tate plans to put the Resurrection, Cookham by Stanley Spencer back on public display? One of the standout pieces of 20th century British art and it's been out of view for what feels like ages
This came after they put up an explanatory plaque accusing Spencer of “reinforcing racist stereotypes and divisions” in the painting. If they are, as it seems, sitting on Spencer's masterpiece because they are ashamed of it, then the Resurrection should be displayed by people who aren't embarrassed. The Stanley Spencer gallery in Cookham would have no such qualms! Sorry, it's too important a painting to shove in a basement because your trustees are pussies

Unbelievable. This government is openly appointing Baroness Ruth Hunt (former Stonewall CEO one of the key architects who rammed Stonewalls ideology through every public body, single-handedly helping dismantle women’s sex-based rights and safeguards... as a Civil Service Commissioner!
While women are STILL battling TQ+ capture in tribunals, they reward the very people who caused it. Shameful!
It is disappointing that as the depth of TQ+ activist domination in Defra is played out in an employment tribunal in Leeds, the Government has appointed the inastaller of Stonewall law across the public sector Ruth Hunt as a Civil Service Commissioner.
The Civil Service Commission, an independent statutory body, oversees appointments to the civil service, ensuring that they are made on merit on the basis of fair and open competition and hears appeals brought under the civil service code. They work part-time, typically between four and eight days a month.

This astonishing story by the Spectator’s @johngconnolly should be seen as a national scandal. After the George Floyd protests, the Treasury – yes, the *Treasury* - ditched its numerical reasoning test for prospective employees because it created an adverse impact on candidate diversity. Utterly staggering.

A lovely clip of Daphne Du Maurier aged 64. I miss this generation of women who looked as they were and felt no shame.
Refusing to be crushed by ageist, sexist expectations & not being modified to look 35 forever.

“The simple step of the courageous individual is to not take part in the lie."
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn would recognize the consistent bullshit coming out of the UK’s Ministry of Defence on defence capability, defence investment and getting ready for war as LIES; and those that peddle them as nothing more than careerist con-artists.
There is no plan, no money and no leadership. Just talk, consultant-crafted sound-bites, catchy video-clips, conference speeches, dressing up for selfies, consistent, careless persecution of veterans and other nonsense. Nothing but LIES.
I do hope this changes soon, and that the right (courageous and honest) leaders are chosen to change all this. But I see very little sign of it….
