Annoyed by the long lines voting in Alabama tomorrow? That's by design. You are a victim of voter suppression. Alabama is 1 of only 3 states with NO early voting. The people in power don't want max turnout, because if everyone votes, they lose.

His own points, properly interpreted actively work against his thesis. Mercedes-Benz chose Alabama because we have statutory limitations on worker's comp claims, and what could be more 3rd world than funneling billions into rockets while people further South live in raw sewage?

I could go on but honestly reading his post once through made me feel like my brain was going into a vacuum-lock. That and nobody is paying me, and here in Alabama you gotta be about your money first thing because the State sure ain't gonna help you with a single fucking thing.

I lived in AL for 2+ decades and I've travelled to several 3rd world countries. Deliberate benign neglect has been the status quo for major areas of the state for well over a century. It is absolutely fair to compare it to 3rd world countries. You simply live in a bubble
This post by @RonGoleman is an outstanding example of how poorly informed Alabama Democrats actually are, even about their own party and candidates. Calling Alabama "borderline third world" is a demonstrably false characterization of Alabama and shows a deep hatred for the state they seek to run. Alabama is the automobile manufacturing leader in the South, second nationwide only to Michigan. Additionally, Alabama has been a critical link to the United States' success in the space aeronautical industry for over half a century. Those are not the earmarks of a 'third world" anything. Republicans have not "run [Alabama] forever." Democrats controlled the majority of the Alabama Legislature for 136 years. Republicans gained the majority 16 years ago in 2010. Alabama has moved from 49th in education to 34th under GOP leadership. Doug Jones played no part in "bankrupting the KKK." The civil case that bankrupted the KKK was broght by Beulah Mae Donald whose son was lynched in Mobile. The attorney who led the case was Michael Figures of the SPLC. Jones was not involved in any way. The Ku Klux Klan was founded by Democrat political figures and was most closely associated with the Alabama Democrat Party throughout its existence. There is no evidence whatsoever that the "KKK endorses" Tuberville. Despite a super-majority of Alabama voters shifting their support to the Republican Party, areas of Alabama with the highest crime rates, highest poverty rates, lowest education rates and lowest economic rates remain almost exclusively under Democrats control. If Mr. Goleman is truly concerned with a "war zone" in our cities, there is a significant number of videos online this morning from Birmingham's Legion Field last night. To even suggest that Alabama voters should return control of the state to George Wallace' Democrat party is just silly.

I revised my Letterboxd essay for Payback (1999). I always felt the original was lacking, but now that I've seen both versions of the movie and read The Hunter by Richard Stark I was able to really punch up the analysis and I think it's a vast improvement over what it was.

This essay has sort of two interwoven themes: the films as they relate to the novel and how all three works taken together paint a dark portrait of the person that Mel Gibson went on to reveal himself to be years after filming Payback (1999).

In some respects I'd say that this is better than my G.I. Jane essay, if only because this is a movie that I totally adored growing up, long before Mel Gibson became known as a man who beat the unholy tar out of the mother of his children.

And that's why we still our lives by precepts conceived of and codified by ancient racists from the 19th Century. In most respects we haven't even caught up with the fucking 20th Century yet.

That's no bluster either. Our state constitution remains very much the brainchild of those cretins from way back when. It's also more or less why we never stopped doing slavery; we just adapted it to the 13th amendment and started milking those Karceral Kash Kows.

In the case of businesses the automation lets them shave a few cents off heating and refrigeration costs. They get the prices of the components down by forcing it all on home users and they can Hoover up a bunch of data on the back end for some extra margins.

Someone who is a die hard smart appliance mf needs to explain to me the actual utility beyond “it looks cool” or “it helps me save (insert fractional crumb of time here)”

in a last-ditch, low-effort attempt to make a showing at this year's mandatory myths and stories' costume competition, birdnar arrived sporting what may be the most embarrassing cosplay we've ever seen. where are simpson's iconic pearl necklace? and her four fingled hand? unsurprisingly, birdnar placed dead-last out of over 2,500 competitors. Hello, @azumano_jam. Is it still possible to purchase Bag Closure anywhere at the present time? I notice that your Booth shop is currently set to private. I have checked other links but I cannot find a link to direct potentially interested players towards for buying the game.

Everyone told Red, "You're a bird. You can't photosynthesize." They were right. But she still got this cool pic out of it.
