🇪🇺 Europe is running short of jet fuel, and it’s now pulling supplies from as far away as South Korea to fill the gap.
The Iran war wiped out roughly half of Europe’s usual jet fuel imports from the Middle East, forcing the continent to lean harder on suppliers in Asia, North America and Africa.
South Korean shipments to Europe are now running at around 129,000 barrels a day, the highest in nearly 4 years.
Even with that extra supply, Energy Aspects expects Europe to face a fourth-quarter jet fuel deficit of around 510,000 barrels a day.
Inventories at the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp hub have already fallen to their lowest level in 7 years.
And this comes just as European diesel, another middle distillate, hits record highs.
Europe isn’t running out of crude. It’s running short of the fuels it actually needs, and winter is coming.

This morning saw the largest drone attack on Moscow since the start of the war. Russia had anticipated a major attack aimed at disrupting its elections, yet several drones penetrated its air-defence systems. No serious analysts believe that such large scale attacks that aim to circumvent Russia's air defences are done without NATO participation. After surviving the Cold War, today’s political class seems determined to risk triggering a nuclear war.
