Like a punt, racing, rugby, cricket and a quiet beverage. #regularbloke. Views my own, but they're all pretty beige, to be fair.

Just a warning, Annie: everybody's looking for something. Some of them want to use you, some of them want to get used by you.
Thrilled that punishing music during breaks in play has made it to Central Otago...

My first winner as a (small share) thoroughbred owner a couple of weeks ago has gone back to back with her 5.5L win today. I think we'll have some more fun with her.

Congrats to connections of Gin And Bare It on their victory in the NZB/Entain Pearl Series race this afternoon!

Not a North Auckland fan, but this - alongside the JK try against Italy and Michael Jones bursting through a gap against Aus in 1998 - is one of my enduring TV-watching rugby memories of the 1980s.
The second good horse our Own The Moment Syndicate has got the chance to race with Moa Creek (Central Otago) breeder Rusty Nevill. The Ultimate Sniper filly has understandably become a favourite with our 60-strong crew spread across NZ.
Clinic at Addington!
Matthew Williamson and Seeking Clarity were in a league of their own, putting the race to bed and leaving the rest chasing a memory in Race 7.

And then Afire's 3/4 sister in blood, Inflamed (by Ghibellines and out of Ortem Fire, a half-sister to Afire's dam Inferno) wins the open handicap at Wingatui, also over 1400m.
The drums are beating...

Smokin' Romans' full sister Afire wins easily over 1400m at Wingatui this afternoon.
Two wins for the dam in the space of two hours? Probably not, but you never know...
Big weekend for Proposition Joe, with his full brother Franco Motu winning a Group 2 in Perth on Friday and Joe remaining unbeaten with his win over Indulge Me today.
Much respect for the people of Whanganui. Up here for my grandfather's funeral this morning. We had the funeral convoy from the funeral home to the crematorium, and so many cars heading in the opposite direction pulled over to the side of the road until our convoy passed.

One of my early forays into ownership was with Searlo. He offered my colleague and I 5% each in the lease of the iconic battler Pernod's Jolter. Every time I tried to pay him my $10/week for my share, he refused.
A great man who saw the best in others, and in the life he'd had.
A lovely story by @Savs_Say on a top man @SearleJamie who is going through an incredibly challenging time, but has a remarkable outlook on things.
I've been lucky to know Jamie for about 20 years, and a kinder, more humble bloke, you could not find.

16-page sports liftout in today's @odtnews, including an outstanding eight pages of racing coverage and fields for tomorrow's Property Brokers Otago Classics Day at @OtagoRacingClub.
My hometown put on a 24degC day today for my arrival. Missed you too, Dunners. – at Dunedin City, New Zealand
Lovely touch at the end of tonight's @HarnessRacingNZ awards when CEO @Brad6Nikki announced a special Long Reign/Rein award for @GuerinSports (unsure of spelling as it was kept out of the order of events, due to Michael being the MC, but they both work!) – at Christchurch City, New Zealand
I have worked with Michael in several capacities over the years & his hard work both in the media and behind the scenes should never be underestimated.
He was his usual professional, humorous self tonight but I reckon he was ALMOST lost for words when the award was announced. – at Christchurch City, New Zealand
An obscure NZ harness racing record was broken after almost 35 years on Sunday when Stunna won the maiden 1609-metre pace (stand start) at Richmond.
The previous mares' record for the distance and start type was set at Addington in January 1990. – at Wellington City, New Zealand
