En Afrique comme ailleurs, la Russie de Vladimir Poutine tente de manipuler les opinions publiques d'Etats souverains pour nuire aux intérêts de la France.
Viginum, le service créé en 2021 pour traquer ces ingérences en fait la démonstration implacable dans un rapport publié aujourd'hui.
Je demanderai que des sanctions européennes soient prises à l'encontre des responsables de cette opération d'ingérence qui vise notamment le Cameroun et la République du Congo.
La Russie cherche désespérément à coloniser les esprits mais elle échouera car nous ne sommes pas dupes.

📍Indian Ocean | The French Navy led a high sea intervention in order to control the pavilion of an oil tanker ashore Reunion Island
This operation aimed to verify the nationality of a ship asserting a Beninese flag. The French sailors examined the papers of the ship and verified the suspicions.
The ship has been rerouted at the demand of the public prosecutor, under escort of the French Navy. The whole operation was led in compliance with the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (art. 110 UNCLOS)

Ce matin, à plus de 450 nautiques au sud de La Réunion, notre Marine nationale a arraisonné le pétrolier DF Peak, suspecté de naviguer sous un faux pavillon et impliqué dans des activités illicites de transport de carburants.
Cette action, conduite conformément au droit international de la mer, témoigne de notre détermination à faire respecter le droit et à lutter contre tous les trafics illicites, où qu’ils se produisent.

We have agreed on the 21st sanctions package against Russia.
It delivers sweeping measures targeting Moscow’s financial system, its military-industrial complex and energy sector, that keep Russia's war economy running.
We are hitting Putin where it hurts most: cutting off the financial lifelines he relies on to sustain his war.
This is not the end of the road on sanctions. We are already working on the next steps. The EU must be ready to respond to any further Russian escalation.
