is it crazy to say the competition in object shows has been pushed to the back in favor for more character arcs and such? i do think its really cool to see and i love it but i also would love to see things like tokens and points and fun challenges more, its a lost art

It’s weird how BFDI’s designs are so simple someone could’ve popularized them decades earlier. imagine someone in 1985 making objects with faces and stick limbs. we’d look at BFDI today and go “haha that’s just ___?” kinda makes you wonder how much comes down to timing

truly think y'all are dragging it with the animation but - that choppy look is the result of primarily animating on 3s (while most shows are on 2s) - streaming ruined everything for cartoons. cable was more profitable, less $ goes in now - less shows are animated on paper
