Let’s stop making immediate rematches just because the first one was exciting. Understand the whole rematch clause thing, and why it gets fights over the line in the first place, but too often there’s just no need to play it again.

Don’t mind admitting I was way off in my prediction there. Superb exhibition of durability from Hrgovic. And don’t write Itauma off yet. Strongly suspect there’s a lot more to come from him. In the end he was hurling on instinct but looked incredibly good until he gassed.

Joshua won. Fury won. Boxing hardcore critical. Yet should the fight between them occur, it will be huge. Boxing shouldn’t be reliant on bouts like this for exposure, but unfortunately it is. The wider public don’t get to see or know anyone other than the biggest of names.

Or maybe one of the fighters involved, who has recently moved to the Isle of Man, will get significant tax relief by the fight not happening in the UK.
Fury vs. AJ happening in the U.S. and not Wembley Stadium shows you what’s currently wrong with the system It’s all about power and politics British fans deserve this.

Joined @MattCBoxingNews on @openingbellpod this week for a chat. A substitute for @alexsteedman who I think was off at a rave or horse racing. Talked Usyk v Verhoeven, stuff about changing face of media and fried the automated subtitles with my accent open.spotify.com/episode/6Yx…

Hamzah Sheeraz is a brilliant, destructive fighter. Even so, let’s call that for what it was. A mismatch that had no business being for a world title.

Hrgovic’s biggest downfall might be the shape of his skull. He’d get cut putting on a paper crown from a Christmas cracker.

It was a privilege to be ringside for Dubois-Wardley. Such courage and resolve from both of them in this blood-soaked epic. Look at Andrew Couldridge's incredible pic above my piece. Amid a blurring deadline I tried to write about the fight. theguardian.com/sport/2026/m…

Spoke to Zak Chelli Snr last night after his son’s win over David Morrell. What a character.

Brutal, thrilling, horrible fight. Wardley will never be the same after that. Should have been pulled out. Dubois, wow, let’s never doubt his heart again.
