Gained quite a few new followers this past month so it's time to reintroduce myself:
I'm Matt 🤠 I build projects at the intersection of fitness and tech, and document the whole journey here
- Grew up in the boston area. Always into sports, fitness, gaming, and tech
- Went to boston college for computer science. Played club volleyball, worked as a personal trainer, and dj’d on the side. Got to open for RL Grime
- Lead engineer at an e-commerce company. Been here over 5 years
- In fall 2023 I left Boston and nomaded around the US for a year. Landed in Austin and never left. Best place to live in the US. Once you skip a winter you never go back north
- Started making content as soon as I got here. A lot of coding and ai tutorials initially. More documenting what I build and lifestyle as of late
- Launched a strava app for hiit workouts in fall 2024. Did a bunch of contract builds since
- Spent most of this year building EVEX, an AI personal trainer app. Launched in June
- Sober for 3.5 years
- Endurance is my thing right now. 2 marathons and 2 hyrox in the last 2 years. Marathon PR is 3:15. hyrox dallas is in 3 weeks, and I'm training for the austin marathon in feb
- Just got back from an asia sabbatical. Best 6 weeks of my life. I've been quiet here because I went all in on daily instagram reels
- My friends and I run the PostHog ATX Builders, a dev meetup in Austin, for over a year
Now I'm bringing life and build updates back to X! Excited to share what I’ve been cooking with EVEX in the coming weeks
The claude video edit hype is real
I saw a lot of buzz recently about it one shotting full videos that aren't slop so I gave it a try
This 90 sec reel was cut cleanly w captions and it ran my app to grab screenshots for the overlays.
btw reel itself is also a solid EVEX update
This is only part of an entire 14 min vlog that only required a few followup prompts to get right and it's youtube ready

helped build my buddy's painting company an updated website and deployed it by dropping a folder. still insane to me how much easier this makes the whole process compared to before, so little friction.
@MattKuda shows how it actually works in fantastic detail.
I asked twitter for advice on how to grow my app.
The consensus was to start with tiktok slideshows.
So I built my own tool to generate them automatically.
First deck was the initial draft, second is where it’s at now.
Next step is to automate posting through the social apis.
