It's foolishness to compare almost any footballer to Maradona. But let me go ahead and do it: The way McTominay led Napoli to a scudetto and then bicycle kicked Scotland to a World Cup reminded me of the great man's exploits.
To be fair, McT was unaided by mountains of cocaine.
Was on a flight today✈️ and as I de-planed, after a safe landing and no catastrophic incidents, I asked the captain: "Did you watch Season 2 of @nathanfielder's The Rehearsal?"
And he said: "No. What is that?"
I was like, "Um it's a show ... about pilots."
And then the flight attendant said: "Aw does he [the captain] remind you of one of the actors?"
I didn't want to hold up the passengers behind me so I nodded politely and left.
My first winter in New England had me questioning why on earth the pilgrims settled here. It was brutal.
But, I will say, Boston is beautiful in the spring.

Hi folks! Some sad news: I was impacted by the Boston Globe layoffs last week, and my time at paper has come to an end. Layoffs are hard (this is my 2nd in two years). But I'm still really proud of my time at the Globe, and for taking a chance on a new project and a new city.
