99% of the #WindrushDay events that are being held today including the statue unveiling have been funded by the home office with over £500,000 paid out to various organisations while 94% of Windrushvictims have yet to receive a penny in compensation or their citizenship restored

Patrick Stewart has died, most famous for starring as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek and Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men. "It is what you do from now on that will either move our civilization forward a few tiny steps, or else... begin to march us steadily backward"

Oh man! Rest in power 😢 Very few actors have had such a big impact on my life from an early age - first as Captain Picard and then as Professor Xavier. What a loss. What an actor. Also, a loud critic of Trump and Brexit and a proud socialist. deadline.com/2026/10/patrick…

It will be 6 whole years on 11th December 2026 since my dad cleared his name: 6 years. My dad is still waiting for compensation, and his health isn't improving with age. 73 and disabled. #PostOfficeScandal
Thank you Varchas. Your family knows this better than anyone. Exoneration should have been the end of the fight, not the start of another one over redress.

Channel 4 Dispatches went undercover inside the Financial Ombudsman Service @financialombuds. What they filmed should have shut the place down. Their own staff said this on camera: "I'm not proud to admit it but I've done it myself. Just taken a chance and just slung stuff through, with any old decision." "You're more likely to meet your targets if you're not upholding them." 11,000 cases fell into a black hole for two years. Some of those letters said "I am going to lose my house." @UKParliament demanded answers. Baroness Ros Altmann called it shocking. MPs threatened a full inquiry. FOS said the footage was "not representative." Nothing changed. Fast forward to today. My own complaint against @rsagroup / @IntactInsurance is now being formally handled by Gary Smith @G8GWS of @MeridianLegals. Gary is the lawyer leading the FOS Litigation Group, a group built on over 1,000 documented FOS failures. He is preparing a judicial review of the FOS. My case has been submitted by Meridian as my regulated representative because what happened to me fits the same pattern Channel 4 filmed. If you have had a complaint dismissed by the FOS and you believe it was handled without proper scrutiny, contact Gary directly at Meridian Legal Services. 0121 516 0675 @MeridianLegals The full transcript of what @C4Dispatches filmed inside the FOS is in the comments. Read it and tell me this is not exactly what is still happening today.

Apparently they only plan to look at this for future scandals and not current or historic scandals. This is despite the extremely damning PAC report highlighting the failings. The state should never be allowed anywhere near compensation schemes where they are the cause.

Why isn’t there a simply board of compensation put together. No lawyers progressing a case to Court. No aggressive tactics. No Court based legal arguments. Just simple Justice to speed up payments. Don’t let them put the wrongdoers in charge. No need to make it difficult.

HMRC wants to cut the time to reclaim overpaid National Insurance from 6 years to 4. It also wants up to 20 years to chase unpaid NI where errors were deliberate. Same HMRC that wants to take money straight from bank accounts.

Most selfish, narcissistic, main character syndrome riddled people on earth. No one else comes close.
These guys have a real problem with taking any racism seriously that doesn’t centre on them.

Don't "fine" Google. Instead - arrest, convict, and imprison every Google executive responsible. They can't keep getting away with this kind of evil.
Google did this to build a data center in Finland. It was illegal, but they did it anyway. Big Tech is out of control.

RIP Heather 🙏 Sad news yet again that another Postmaster passed away before seeing full and fair redress and justice delivered. This could have all been avoided if the adversarial tactics were not applied at every stage of a claim

@andyburnham @biztradegovuk @UKParliament @SkyNews @BBCEmmaSimpson Unfortunately we have lost another subpostmaster without full & fair redress. Devastated. The stress of fighting & fighting & getting nowhere takes its toll on the body. RIP Heather xxx

Some empty ambulances being set on fire moved the political needle and triggered media histrionics much more than the wrongful deportation, state sanctioned hounding and consequent destitution and even deaths of Black British people. We have eyes and ears.
The most disingenuous left line is "no hierarchy of racism". It's used only about antisemitism and actually mean they want it deprioritised below issues they care about more. Jews are only asking so called "anti-racists" for the same concern they rightly demand for others.

I bet you have seen those videos showing how UK supermarkets are dumping huge amounts of in date food because they don't want to give it away. Meanwhile the UK govt is telling you to stockpile food for war. They think you are stupid.

#PostOfficeScandal In 2021 I spoke with Nick Read as CEO of @PostOffice and warned that if they did not voluntarily re-open HSS claims they would be forced to do so later down the line. This happened in 2024. Subsequently when the Post Office and government rolled out the Fixed Sum Award of £75,000 I wrote to the Post Office, the Minister and the inquiry to warn again that they would be forced to re-open these accepted awards because many people were legally unrepresented and ordinary people would have no idea how to value their claims with regards to the many heads of claim they might be entitled to. This has now happened as per the announcement last week from @biztradegovuk Latest announcement on more appeals and changes to the redress schemes :- gov.uk/government/news/new-a… It is one of the reasons the Information and Support service was created as I was swamped helping hundreds of victims navigate the labyrinth of redress schemes. I had suggested it needed to be fully paid legal advice like in the GLO and HCRS schemes, but government refused on the basis it would be too slow and costly. I accepted that some service would be better than nothing but I made it very clear that I did not support that over legal advice. Here we are again over a year later and we are now funding legal advice for those who accepted the £75,000 to determine if they should appeal and apply for more. So not only have we paid several million for the information and support service, we are now funding the legal fees for the exact same cohort of claimants. Yet all this talk that we must be cautious because this is taxpayer money. The whole thing is nonsensical. Everything that they have refused to do over the years, they are now as I suggested to them many times over being forced to do exactly those things. Below is just one of many letters that have been sent over the years highlighting all of these problems. Slowly the resolutions are coming, but for many as we saw yesterday it is too late as people are sadly passing away before receiving redress and justice. Then we have some of the most complex claims still fighting tooth and claw to receive redress they are owed because of the continued adversarial nature of the schemes.

Does anyone remember the Windrush Scandal? This man, Tony Hall does. He's been hanging around, virtually, homeless and unable to work, for fourteen years, waiting for the Home Office to decide on his future. He's lived in the UK for 50 years. theguardian.com/uk-news/2026…
