This is a trope in mystery fiction literally going back to MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS and I don't know how to respond to the quote tweets without just going "you cannot process normal narrative convention when it's coming out of the mouth of someone you don't like."

I think this is also why so many western progressives seem to genuinely believe "LotR" and Tolkien are progressive. Evalengical rightists are so extreme they make the hypocritical, patriarchal, paternalist expressions of kindness of Catholicism seem progressive by comparison

I hate evangelicals. I genuinely think they're the worst religion currently. But I'll never hold any candle to catholicism or the catholic church. They aren't the center of leftist liberation as online Christians say they are. This is just revisionism.

I think there is frustration that some people voted to punish Democrats over Gaza, knowing that would produce a worse outcome for that region, plus thousands dead from USAID cuts, more war elsewhere and a worse economy at home and still think they made a rational choice.
