It has never been cheaper or easier in the history of humankind to find anything copy of anything you want to read. “Corporate media” is not to blame for our bad taste.
Everyone blames screens for the decline of reading.
Nobody blames the consolidated corporate publishing industry that made books pricier, more generic, and harder to find. jacobin.com/2026/10/books-pu…

Replying to @jadler1969 @UCLA_Law
I like the suggestion to focus on the real concerns, which should have little to do with political ideology and all to do with predatory behavior. This thread and the comments to it remind me of @MaybellRomero’s paper “Gossip.”

I also Jane Doe. I have also grappled with the fallout of sexual assault. I have written extensively about this across three articles, and can see so many parallels between Jane Doe's awful experiences at @Cornell and my own. 1/x
In that article, I write about staying cordial with the senior professor who assaulted me. It wasn't confusion or consent. It was risk management. Read Jane Doe's friendly texts in the Cornell case with that in mind before treating them as proof of anything. 6/x

She’s Jane Doe, I’m Jane Doe, every woman you come into contact with is Jane Doe.
It doesn’t matter who you try to expose or dox. It affects us all and it always has.
My name is Jane Doe and I’ve been hurt in countless ways by men.
She’s Jane Doe, I’m Jane Doe.
As a @Cornell alum, and as one who writes extenstively about rape and sexual assault, I absolutely want to see Michael Kotlikoff out as president of the university now.
I think @delta is trying to kill off all the passengers on my flight that landed at MSP. It is probably 95 degrees in here and we’re just sitting and going no here. Flight attendant said the pilot would turn the AC on. Why did they turn it off?!
