Fort Worth is proud to be the Aviation and Defense Capital of Texas, with more than 600 companies and $120 million in new investments in the industry. Our higher education partners like @TCU are ensuring we are prepared to meet this moment.
This week, we celebrated the first year of TCU's professional aviation program and its growing role in strengthening the talent pipeline that will power this dynamic industry in Fort Worth and across the nation for years to come.
Congratulations to TCU, and congratulations to the Horned Frogs training to be our next generation of aviation leaders!
Our first responders represent the very best of our community. 💙❤️
This #NationalFirstRespondersDay, join me in recognizing and thanking the heroic individuals who answer the call to serve daily with courage, compassion, and unwavering commitment to our community. To our firefighters, police and law enforcement officers, EMTs, paramedics, and 911 dispatchers – we are grateful for the sacrifices you make every day to protect and serve others. @FortWorthFire @fortworthpd
So much fun spending time with some of the City of Fort Worth’s brightest!
Fort Worth’s future looks bright 😎
The City's 10th annual Young Professional Summit, @MayorMattie reminded us impact has no age requirement! Our YPs connected with potential mentors, and learned how to pass forward what matters. 💙
Fort Worth is grateful for Officer Gentry's 22 years of service and dedication to our community. Please join me in keeping his family, loved ones, and the Fort Worth Police Department in our prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Message from Chief Eddie Garcia:
It is with a heavy heart that I share the passing of Officer Brian Gentry #3403.
On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, while on-duty, Brian experienced a medical emergency and went to a local hospital emergency room. He was abruptly admitted to the ICU and passed away hours later on October 21, 2026.
Brian has been with the department since 2004 and assigned to the Fugitive Unit as a U.S. Marshal’s Task Force Officer.
The loss of a member of our department is deeply personal. Brian was one of our own, and his passing will be felt by the many people who had the privilege of working alongside him and calling him a friend.
Our thoughts are with Brian’s family, loved ones, and fellow officers during this incredibly difficult time. As a department, we will come together to support one another and, most importantly, to support his family as they navigate this unimaginable loss.
Please keep Brian’s family and the Fort Worth Police Department family close in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Funeral arrangements will be shared at a later date.
Chief Eddie Garcia
As the 10th largest city in the nation, we have a responsibility to protect the roots that make Fort Worth special and an opportunity to ensure that as our city grows, so does nature.
I'm so proud to launch the Fort Worth Open Space & Parks Conservancy and our work bringing together public leadership, private philanthropy, and community partners to accomplish things none of us could do alone.

Kay Granger was a trailblazer and tenacious leader. Among her many achievements, she was the first woman to be elected Mayor of Fort Worth and the first Republican woman to serve from Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives. Over the years that I worked with Kay, I learned from her indelible spirit, work ethic, constant sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to Texas and Fort Worth. I’m fortunate to have called her a mentor and friend. To Kay’s family, my prayers are with you. What a lady, and the end of an era in political service.
