Quick Main Street update! Work has started on the first of three new bumpouts, this one in front of Alice Corson Park. The other two will be located near the charter school and the Boys & Girls Club.

When Main Street is paved, these locations will also receive raised crosswalks to help slow traffic and create safer crossings along this busy neighborhood corridor. Paving is still planned for this fall, but obviously will pause during The Big E. More progress to come!

Last Friday, the DPW and I walked Birnie Avenue with our sidewalk design team to finalize the layout for the first two phases of the new sidewalk project, set to begin next spring.

Sidewalk extensions on Piper, Prospect, and Brush Hill are also under design and will begin construction after Birnie is completed. Another big step toward making West Side safer, more walkable, and connected for everyone!
