Between the World Bank and China on railways, I’d rather listen to China.
The World Bank says Kenya could have saved up to Sh117 billion in the construction of the Mombasa–Nairobi SGR if it had matched Tanzania’s cost per kilometre.
— Kenya’s SGR cost Sh988 million per km (diesel-powered), compared to Sh741 million per km in Tanzania (electrified) and Sh689 million per km in Ethiopia (electrified).
(At least 30% of the extra cost is linked to governance challenges, including fraud and non-competitive) contracting.

President William Ruto says the government is setting up an Industrialisation Fund.
He says the target of the Industrialisation Fund will be to lend to manufacturers at single digits. He hasn't said how it will be capitalised.
There's also a proposed Green Investment Fund being set up targeting US$200 million (Kes 25.99 billion) in capitalisation (see quoted tweet).
