This is just awful. Josh was a good guy. Enjoyed visiting with him. inforum.com/news/fargo/wday-…
OBAMA: I inherited this major financial crisis. I never called my Treasury Secretary and said, “You've got to go to Arby's. Order roast beef. No cheese though that may look elitist.”
They don't have solutions to actual problems, so they'd rather have the media and you talking about the Cheesecake Factory.

Obama tonight on his Cheesecake Factory line: "They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke. The White House even called the Secretary of the Treasury. This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory."
Umm, no.

City owned stadiums are paid for by the folks who go to the games. Makes sense.
There is no evidence to support they can’t financially make it work. Maybe there will be. We’ll find out. Be happy in FCS, bud.

Serious question. Does anyone have the link to the story the local media did about how NDSU will be able to financially sustain the move over time? I would like to lean more about how it was reported to determine there is no evidence it can’t be supported.
I had this on my list of columns to write, but Chris beat me to it. One thing to add: I was told MW presidents were very resistant to FCS schools and were looking at La Tech at one point if NIU fell through. Took awhile to get a couple/few schools to OK NDSU.
New column: The Mountain West's addition of NDSU has been a master stroke, but the invitations to UTEP and NIU have been a swing and a miss. Those teams are a combined 0-12 against FBS competition with an average scoring margin of minus-30.3 ppg. nevadasportsnet.com/news/rep…
Who does not see this stuff as being weird as hell? I don’t care whether you like him or not, this is just effing strange.
Readers getting undies in a bunch over column about state money helping NDSU with their stadium situation: “I don’t want my tax dollars going to a stadium!”
NDSU, UND play in city-owned stadiums … tax dollars.
Every other state university plays in a taxpayer-funded stadium. 🤦🏼
- a state university getting state dollars is not stealing from taxpayers. That’s literally the definition of a state university.
- there’s no evidence NDSU can’t support the move to FBS.
- as a UND fan, just shut up. Nobody cares what you think about NDSU’s move.
275 tickets remain for NDSU-UTEP game on Halloween, according to Bison ticket website. Could be headed for fourth 18,000-plus crowd of season.
McFeely: New Mexico legislature gives $50 million for stadium. What a concept. inforum.com/opinion/columns/…

Poll comes out same day Washington Post has big story saying Tafoya is upending things in Minnesota Senate race. Shrug.
NYT: "Democrats lead comfortably in Minnesota.... Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, the Democratic nominee, is ahead of Michele Tafoya, the Republican nominee, by 14 points." nytimes.com/2026/10/28/us/so…
If rest of country follows Nevada trend, gonna be a long Tuesday night for Republicans.
The early voting blog is updated!
11 days into the two-week early in-person voting period, Dems now have a nearly 6 percent lead, or just under 30,000 ballots. The window is narrowing for some Republicans and may already have shut for some.

Spotlight on their offense? It's been all about their defense from Day One.
New Mexico is maybe the most fun team in college football right now, with the spotlight on their offense and head coach.
Not talked about enough? Maybe one of the best defenses of the past 30 years in CFB.
