There is plenty of reason for the Democratic Party to move left. But policy shouldn't trump helping people. I want M4A. But I won't ever support the idea of harming people simply because I cannot get M4A passed. Nor should anyone who wants to claim they're helping the cause.

I’m waiting for both factions of the left to realize that the spiel about how “[Centrists/Leftists] spend more time fighting the other than [Trump/Fascism]” is really just bitching said other side isn’t capitulating exactly how the critic wants them to.

This has proven to be a prototypical leftist position from what I've seen on this godawful website. I just don't get it... Leftists, for obvious reasons, argue that the duty to oppose genocide is met by simply allowing another country to sell bombs to the genocider. Unreal.

firstly, i reject the label of genocide to describe iran killing protesters. it is a crime but it is not genocide. secondly, you're conflating 2 different things again. we have a duty to *stop arming genocide* in gaza. we are not giving weapons to iran. quite the opposite!

The only people that wouldn't benefit from a minimum wage increase are the uber wealthy, and actually no, their needs don't matter. And I'm sure Biden could have taken time away from record deportations and handing out record drilling permits to help pass the wage increase

As a disclaimer, I have better things to do than listen to a YouTube shock jock . As such, I don’t know if this applies to Hassan, per se. However, there is an issue with leftists with identifying something as morally wrong but then participating in that activity.

I see it a lot with criticisms of capitalism and worker exploitation… but you could theoretically see it anywhere. The point is when you identify something as morally wrong, you have an affirmative duty to NOT participate in such activity.

The real harm isn't suffered by you or me. The people really harmed in this pissing contest are the people who can afford it the least. And this willingness of leftists to essentially say "I want the indigent and immigrants to suffer" because Manchin didn't vote M4A is appalling.
