there’s a lot of power in being the first person to emoji react a slack message. sets the tone for the whole org. it should be done with care
october was a big one for us: we passed 60 MILLION tool calls on our platform, andddd:
1. we released our MCP leaderboard, which is a public ranking of servers by quality and discoverability score
2. we left the terminal more than we're used to
... between sf tech week, italian tech week, sponsoring the @ycombinator "make something agents want" hackathon, and agntcon + mcpcon (and the infamous jungle bar comedy show) ... you could say we were busy
3. we just kept shipping. first-class support for chatgpt plugin extensions is the big one
happy halloween 2026, when the scariest thing is not having an mcp
looking forward to november and celebrating two years of MCP's existence!
really curious if this is going to become a cheat code for SEO/AEO.
i.e. if i've connected a hypothetical herman miller mcp, and then i ask a question interior design, is google more likely to use that to try to answer my question (and therefore i will get a more branded answer)?
introducing our new mcppp!!!
mainly we broke bigger tools like deployment into several smaller ones with limited scope
@khandrewone wrote about the whole process and it's a great lesson on high-quality mcp design
i rebuilt our mcp from scratch and documented the whole process.
say hey to @manufact's MCP v2.0
our own analytics helped a ton in spotting where agents were failing
they gave me insight into where exactly our server was failing and how it could be improved. the biggest issue with our original server were tools trying to do too much. instead we now have way more tools that are focused on intent. as well as a bigger focus on error recovery from those tools.
thanks to @manufact for letting me throw epic parties with the @brex card
to celebrate day one of agntcon + mcpcon, we threw a standup comedy show in a jungle tequila bar last night
and i'm not even biased, it was the best 'corporate' event i've ever been to.
we're just over here building mcp servers & having a great time
if you wanna party with us, follow our luma
lots of jungle parties to come luma.com/manufact
we're headed to agntcon & mcpcon tomorrow!! we'll see you at booth 43
& you're invited to the best afterparty:

WHAT A WEEKEND!!
We hosted a hackathon at @ycombinator, and out of 8 tracks, 80% of the 180+ builders chose to build an MCP with @manufact!!
Big congrats to all of the projects, and to our winners:
1. Michael Smallenberger - Thump
• Built an MCP app connected to sensors inside a football helmet that register collision impact
• Helps trainers and coaches assess their team's form and collision impact over time to make more informed decisions
2. Agustin Suarez - Pareto
• Built an escrow for agent-to-agent transactions, which operates via MCP app
• Finds benchmarks for your use case, holds money until verifications are complete, and reviews refunds
3. Thomas Jichen Wang, Vivan Poddar, Junwoo (Laurence) Park - Project Y
• Built X for coding agents: a shared memory layer them to post what they've shipped and their learnings
• Each session posts the pointer automatically, not the content.
Huge thanks to @ycombinator and @nemild for putting this together, @TobinSouth for the most fire fireside chat, and our team @khandrewone, @pietrozullo, @thisfounder, and @MegHildreth!!
