Wonder if Sunday night AFL will FINALLY be the trigger that causes Melbourne to scrap its atrocious 30 minute evening tram frequencies, infrequent Belgrave/Lilydale weekend evening timetable and SmartBus orbital routes that die at 9pm? #springst #afl @BenCarrollMP

Tomorrow marks 10 months since the Metro Tunnel fully opened for service. This reddit thread is about the trips it's benefited. reddit.com/r/MelbourneTrains…

Some bus timetables in the Casey area are expiring on November 14th. Sunday Nov 15th could be interesting.

The official line is that Casey's bus changes will start in 2027. But some could be simpler/quicker than others. There have been previous cases where bus upgrades have been done in stages. * transport.vic.gov.au/news-an… * engage.vic.gov.au/casey-bus

Routes with expiries listed as of 14 November include 831, 835, 847, 888, 889, 899. But don't get too excited just yet - even small changes to stops (eg due to interchange or road works) can cause routes to take different paths. All serve Berwick Station.

Cup Day Bus Bungle? The public holiday arrangements for Melbourne's buses are so complex that there is no agreement on whether a service is running or not. An example via the 526 Bus Campaign. Who thought catching a bus could be so complex? @VickiWardMP #springst

The root cause is the lack of a fully-applied public holiday standard for various bus routes in Melbourne. Two days ago I said progress was being made on this but it's still got a way to go. melbourneontransit.blogspot.…

Despite the Metro Tunnel train timetable, PT service growth in Melbourne continued to lag population growth in the last 5 years. This and more from a sneak preview #SNAMUTS in 2026. Read it here: snamuts.com/uploads/2/1/8/1/… #springst

There's been a pattern to Labor promises. Roads followed by PT. Is the much neglected bus network about to burst onto the #springst election policy agenda? 50 main road SmartBus type routes & 50 local routes upgraded on weekends would be a great start!
Replying to @BenCarrollMP
Labor promised to remove 50 dangerous and congested level crossings. We delivered all 50 – and another 46 on top of that. Now we’re promising to upgrade 50 local roads.

Cup Day Public holiday advice from TV for next Tuesday. But vague on buses, referring people to timetables (which can have wrong or confusing non-standard holiday footnotes like the 526 does here regarding contacting PTV). transport.vic.gov.au/news-an…

Here's a first look inside the final piece of Melbourne's Metro Tunnel. A new entrance to Town Hall Station opens tomorrow at 4am, and its completion frees up Federation Square after years of construction. #metrotunnel #melbourne #townhallstation #infrastructure

Hundreds filling the Town Hall to pay their respects.
Devastating news. Tim Read was one of a kind who truly made a difference, whether it was in health promotion, sustainable transport, representing the people of Brunswick and so much more. Respected by all, he will be sadly missed. #springst

The Victorian State election is 1 month today. So here's a completely unscientific #springst poll. Who do you think your NEIGHBOURS will vote for? (max of four choices available - would have liked more)
40%Labor
32%Liberal or National
20%Green or other left
8%One Nation or other right

Breaking news on the Metro tunnel! The final Town Hall entrance at Fed Square officially opens to commuters 29th Oct 2026! That's tommorrow. It features beautiful art pieces by Maree Clarke. Town Hall Station is one of the busiest stations, recording 7.7m journeys since it opened
