Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen on Switch 2 is using frame generation. Capcom’s first time doing it on the console. Base target is 30fps handheld and docked. Turn the option on and it interpolates frames for visuals they call equivalent to 60fps. You can switch it off in the full game. Producer Naoto Oyama said “If you turn on frame generation in this state, a function that interpolates frames will be activated, allowing you to play with smooth visuals equivalent to 60 FPS.” There’s some ghosting in spots where interpolation struggles. They still shipped the toggle.

Marvel’s Wolverine hotfix just dimmed the scent trails. Insomniac’s words: “less intense.” v1.001.005. PS5. Also fixes some launch crashes. Scent Trails and Audio Sense still on. Lower opacity. No off switch in this patch. “Our team continues to evaluate ways to further improve Senses in the game, including exploring toggleable options for a future update.” Clearly leaving the door open. People just wanted the fart gas gone.

Take-Two says the PC “is becoming more and more important to our company over time.” Strauss Zelnick. Shareholder meeting. Still no GTA 6 PC date. “The strategy of the company is, over time, generally speaking, to launch for any platforms for which there’s a meaningful audience.” GTA 6 is November 19 on PS5 and Xbox. Not PC. Rockstar starts on console because that’s the “core.” He also said a big Take-Two title can do 45, 50% of sales on PC now. Used to be 5% on 2K. Clearly leaving the door open. Just not opening it.

The Blood of the Dawnwalker is getting New Game Plus. Konrad Tomaszkiewicz said it on a PlayStation stream. No date. “New Game Plus? Yes, it’s coming. But I won’t tell you when.” Rebel Wolves. Sony Pictures TV chairman Keith Le Goy says free Live TV on PS5 is “one plus one equaling a lot more than two.” 100-plus channels. Movies and TV. Watch ads, watch for free. Same idea as Tubi and Pluto. Le Goy told Variety the PS5 already has 40–50 million people who are “incredibly engaged.” Hard-to-reach. Attractive to advertisers.
