I’m not saying peak Alan Shearer wouldnt be a top striker in 2026. I’m just saying I reckon he’d broadly view the game as being more difficult for him. I reckon 1998-2002 Sol Campbell wouldnt keep 2018-2026 Virgil van Dijk out of that Liverpool team.
