I miss my dog. He was the best of the best and part of my soul.
Please post pictures of good doggos and kitties to boost my moodš I want to see them all!
Donating Bruceās beds to a local pitbull foster program, donating his food & treats (thereās a lot since we were doing everything to entice him to eat at the end) to another rescue here in LA that Iāve supported for a long time. Makes me feel a little better. He would want that.
Dealing with ADHD is hard enough, but our emotional dysregulation means we feel everything so damn deeply.
Which means dealing with grief is a motherfucker. Itās hard for anyone, period, but the losses cut extra deep & hard and timeblindness makes it last forever.
I miss my dogš
Being trapped in our heads with obsessive thought patterns means dwelling on the same moments or feelings over and over again. Itās hell. But it explains why grief really does have no timeline for anyone, because everyoneās heart & chemistry is different.

One reason why autists and ADHDāers may grieve for longer is the ātime blindnessā many of us have. The particularly fluid way we see and experience time can make it hard to give ourselves any closure we havenāt received and then move on, because our bodies wonāt say āitās time!ā.
Lifeās funny cuz everything seems ok. Not great cuz youāre suffering from depression but ok.
Then your brother & your father & your dog die.
āThatās the thing about unhappiness. All it takes is for something worse to come along & you realize it was actually happiness after all.ā
I deleted my last tweet because I am stepping away again (I just needed to share my grief over Bruceš¾)
But I will say, donāt be surprised if more & more authors step away from social media. Our empathy/sensitivity makes us great writers but also makes our accessibility a target.
RIP Bruce. 10 beautiful years with the best dog in the world. You passed in my arms today, ready to go on your next adventure & into the arms of my father (see vid). To say we are devastated is an understatement but we are so grateful & lucky we were loved by you š#AdoptDontShop
