About 6 years ago I was diagosed with rare genetic blood #cancer called polycythemia. Since then it’s progressed & become post-polycythemia vera myelofibrosis. 36 months ago I was also diagnosed with multiple myeloma.

There’s a haunting line in Jude The Obscure #ThomasHardy when one of the children kills himself & leaves a note which says ‘done because we are too many’. It is SO sad. But they have no food & are in terrible poverty. It used to seem so Victorian, now it seems almost current.
If I’d been any literary character, I’d have loved to have been Madeleine Vesey Neroni who had very strange legs and a daughter she introduced to everyone as ‘the last of the Nero’s’.

It’s Veterans Day, and it’s worth noting that our Commander-in-Chief claimed bone spurs to avoid the draft and illegally diverted $2.8mil raised for veterans at a charity fundraiser to his own campaign. Our armed forces and veterans deserve a real leader, not a cowardly crook.
