Vandaag herdenken we de Slag bij Vercellae in 101 v. Chr. tussen de Romeinse Republiek onder leiding van consul Gaius Marius en de Germaanse Cimbren onder stamhoofd Boiorix. De Cimbren werden in de mist vernietigd door de Romeinse cavalerie en verloren 140.000 man.

Vandaag herdenken we de moord op kardinaal Juan Soldevilla y Romero, aartsbisschop van Zaragoza, in 1923. Hij werd in Zaragoza doodgeschoten door Francisco Ascaso en Rafael Torres Escartín, twee leden van de anarchistische groepering Los Solidarios ('De Goeden').

Waarom blijven m'n pakketjes naar dit waardeloze pakketpunt gebracht worden? @PostNL
Hebben de bezorgers hier een keus in?

Microsoft confirms "Update and Shut Down" was actually restarting Windows 11.
If you have ever noticed Windows 11’s Update and Shut Down not actually shutting down your PC and restarting instead, you’re not alone.
Many of us probably developed a little trust issue with that button because the PC kept bouncing back to the sign-in screen.
Turns out it was a known issue with Windows 11 and even Windows 10. It's finally fixed.
This fix will begin rolling out to everyone with this month's Patch Tuesday, scheduled for November 11.
Requires Build 26200.7019 / 26100.7019 or newer.

Remember that 19 Yazidi girls were burned alive in iron cages by ISIS for refusing to convert to Islam and become sex slaves.
ISIS paraded them through the streets of Mosul, then burned them in front of hundreds of people.

A group of Lefist Activists are pushing for the Ruby on Rails project to remove the project’s founder (@dhh) because they claim he “holds racist and transphobic views” and “other traits undesirable”.
This group, which compares themselves to the French resistance during WWII, is also demanding the adoption of a “modern Code of Conduct”.
