All the cope around the AI market crash is weird when, in fact, even if the bubble popped, it could make independent AI development cheaper. Everything would just go back to 2024 all over again.
Research and experimentation would become way cheaper too, and people could make progress faster since there'd be less focus on scaling and more on novel approaches.
Also, there are already plenty of open-source models out there, even if Anthropic or OpenAI were gone.
I'm all for the bubble bursting if it means we're going to see a community of people and small team making cool stuff and getting featured on Hugging Face again. 🫡
