Puzzling through if NFTs can be used to help fund trustless self-sovereign identity efforts, and open infrastructure tools & services. First experiment: opensea.io/assets/0x495f9472…

It is absolutely critical to fight Apple's attempt to surveil one billion people in the name of a higher cause.
Apple's new end-user handset scanning is likely the most powerful tool for surveillance authoritarianism ever conceived by humans. The most we can do for our children is to not go down this road. maxhodak.com/nonfiction/2021…

Great! If any artists, investors or the simple curious want to learn more; @LogosCapital has started the local @BitAngels chapter to advise and invest into crypto, blockchain and NFT projects. Kudos to the #MiamiTechTeam for highlighting! @MiamiDAO @miamidadedao @bitbaselmiami

Thank you @POTUS for including Costa Rica as a beneficiary of the global donation of 55 million doses against COVID-19 announced today. This act of sharing helps to relief the global shortage of vaccines. We are all in this fight: none of us will be safe until everyone is safe.

I don't want to jinx it, but I really think Miami mayor @FrancisSuarez has a real shot at becoming president if he chooses to go that route. Our country would be very lucky to have him.

For those from Miami, this is alternately surprising, and absolutely not at all.

Yes!, and since all individuals do not have and are not going to have Bitcoin, transfering stablecoin seigniorage to the people, empower individuals. Transfering stablecoin seigniorage to the people is crypto UBI. Crypto UBI is the money right. Crypto UBI + SPDI = 🙂
This is not a Bitcoin account. This is a freedom account. Bitcoin is merely a means to an end - one giant leap toward individual empowerment. It is the peaceful revolution I could not have fathomed a decade ago. nitter.cf/lopp/status/1447822222…

Sanctuary country for crypto. The next piece is the right set of laws for corporate structure. If modeled after Wyoming, many companies could incorporate in El Salvador, set up DAOs, and pay employees in BTC there.

In one tweet, @Cameron Winklevoss summarized what I tried to say in several thousand words: "It used to be that to stop #Bitcoin you had to shut down the internet. Now you have to shut down a country." nitter.cf/cameron/status/1402619…

As the national environment gets worse, the city, state, and international environment gets better. Bullish on Miami and El Salvador — and also on Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, and Nebraska.

So many are just completely missing the historical importance of what is happening in El Salvador. The govt could have pushed a surveillance and control coin, a civil liberties-stripping CBDC, a China project... No! They went with Bitcoin. Freedom money. Just remarkable.

Important report on the exclusionary impact of Uganda’s #digitalidentity scheme from @humanrightsnyu

Our report shows a much darker picture of exclusion, missed opportunities, and significant financial costs. (19/25)

Congratulations and welcome to Miami! @jack If you want to know more about the digital identity constitutional amendment and an international treaty to speed it up, send us a DM, if you know how to do it... 😂 You are invited for a cafecito.
Square is considering making a hardware wallet for #bitcoin. If we do it, we would build it entirely in the open, from software to hardware design, and in collaboration with the community. We want to kick off this thinking the right way: by sharing some of our guiding principles.
Great vision @balajis ! and may be improved by transfering stablecoin seigniorage for the people, reducing inequality. The People can own WY SPDI type Banks, funded by crypto UBI. #BottomUpMoneySupplyIsAHumanRight @FrancisSuarez @CommishDiaz @CommishDCH @MayorDaniella

In less receptive areas, you could combine citycoins with the shadow mayor concept I discussed with @tferriss. Essentially, set up a parallel public service org that's wholly opt-in. Start providing community services. And have people support via coin. tim.blog/2021/03/25/balaji-s…
To all our LGBTQ residents: I've got your back! I love you. This community loves you – and I'm so proud to fly the Pride flag over county hall for the first time in Miami-Dade's history.

The Miami Token was launched in 2018 with the same vision, by some MiamiDAO members. It was too soon. The City of Miami, with the crypto task force will make it a success! @FrancisSuarez @CommishDiaz @CommishDCH @MayorDaniella @Sarasti @marceloclaure @rabois @saif305
First city coin launches today. These could become the basis for city apps. Obviously, use city coins to pay locals. Less obviously, use them to recruit talent, invest in companies, and generally bet on a city’s growth. A bit like municipal equity, instead of municipal debt.

Absolutely! @awrigh01 , the balance is the fundamental right to not have a virtual personality (digital identity). @ChristopherA @OwnYourDataNow @drummondreed @MDKaufman307 @CaitlinLong_ @brendencmaher @dazzagreenwood @rothfuss @Tyler_Lindholm @Prof_CarlaReyes @Scotus
Privacy is necessary for an open society in the electronic age. The recent (and continued) attempts by regulators to impose increasing AML / KYC requirements on crypto worry me. We need a balance.

Today, we especially honor and remember the service and ultimate sacrifice of the brave men and women in the armed forces who have protected our nation and preserved our freedom. Their eternal legacy is our shared liberty. Let us remember & honor them. #MemorialDay

Army Sgt. McNeill was 22 when his body returned to Miami in 2007- a day we will never forget. This #MemorialDay , we remember our fellow Americans who so loved their country that they were willing to give everything for it. May we honor their ultimate sacrifice today and everyday – at Lakes by the Bay, FL
