It's taking my mom 8 weeks to get a lump on her thyroid diagnosed. My wife's step dad has prostate cancer. They only found out he had cancer because they had to demand his medical records after not hearing back from his doctor for weeks. Turns out, he went on a 5 week European vacation and they couldn't be bothered to inform her step-dad. They were literally offended when he asked for his records to go to another doctor. My neighbor's blood cancer came back. There's a medication his doctors say will likely cure him. Insurance refuses to pay for it. If policy makers don't give Americans a healthcare system worth defending, socialized healthcare will be here before we know it. Of course, it won't be any better, but things have gotten so bad, it'll probably only be marginally worse.

After signing an executive order designating 9/11 a citywide day of remembrance, the pen was handed to his chief counsel, Ramzi Kassem.
Kassem previously represented a convicted al Qaeda member whose brother-in-law was one of the hijackers aboard American Airlines Flight 77, which struck the Pentagon on 9/11.
The moment is adding to the criticism Mamdani is already facing over his participation in 9/11 remembrance events.
