A new javelin sensation in the house.
19-year-old, Aditya Sheokand clinched 🥇 gold at the 65th National Open Athletics Championships with a throw of 79.40m.
He pipped reigning Asian U23 Champion Anand Singh and rising talent Deepanshu Sharma.
After battling injuries and recovery since winning the Junior National Championships last year, the Haryana-born thrower is back and closing in on the 80m mark.
Rumesh and Rohit were the biggest surprises in 2026… Rumesh Terminator destroyed the competition with many throws over 90… Rohit came close to 88 in 2026… I think Rumesh goes 95
I remember this village … it was our training ground for 3-4 years, first with @RohitJavelin and then with his younger brother Rohan. We achieved many things: national record, number 1 U19 in the world and few times national team members
The @Neeraj_chopra1 effect… surreal technique!!!!!! Nothing to correct here
Javelin is a special event. Field events in general. Yes, they want to win, but many times they train together for months and help each other.

I have always wanted more Indian throwers to compete at the highest level, and seeing Rohit and Yashvir win medals at the Asian Games is something I am very happy about. Congratulations to both of them, and to Indian athletics! 🇮🇳💪
Olympic champion 1992-1996-2000, silver medal 1988. World record holder 98.48 m… 90 x over 90 meters… Jan Zelezny
