Another Saturday, another trip to rural VA 😊, where I was joined by my colleagues to present a ceremonial check to The Great Meadow Foundation. We have worked to support the resurgence of the equine industry in the Commonwealth for many years — it shows persistence pays off.

Meet “Betty No Last Name.” That is the name printed FOUR TIMES on this restoration-of-rights certificate bearing Governor Spanberger’s and Secretary Candi Mundon King’s signatures. The certificate says the Executive completed a review of “the particulars of the individual’s case.” There are possible criminal implications here. This is not restoring a dead persons right to vote. This is restoring a non existent persons right to vote. Va. Code § 18.2-472 criminalizes a public officer’s fraudulent false entry in an official record in that officer’s custody. Creating a false restoration record triggers this statute. And get this … a conviction removes the office holder from office and bars them from holding future office….

Too bad with the governors energy plans (plural since she can’t pick one) we remain an energy importer which means our electric bills aren’t going down at all
Cheap and abundant electricity is good! Virginia has made progress on many of the reforms noted in this essay. From solar siting to grid modernization, I’m going to continue to push for policies that save folks money and get us the energy we need.statesforum.org/january-book…

The conditions allowing for the safe return of Ms. Machado to Venezuela is the direct result of the U.S. supported reconciliation talks which has already seen hundreds of political prisoners freed and hundreds of political opposition figures return from exile. The United States expects the freedoms of all sectors of Venezuelan politics to continue to be respected. Likewise, we expect all political actors to support these talks which represent the best chance Venezuela has had in thirty years to peacefully achieve not just a free and fair election but an enduring democracy.

Gross incompetence! A Virginia family reports the administration sent a voting rights restoration letter to a man who died 22 YEARS AGO! Even worse? It was addressed to “Shakey”- his street nickname, NOT his legal name! Who is verifying these records?

Gov. Spanberger is proud to have reviewed and restored voting rights for 66,000 Virginians, which is cold comfort to Terry’s family. Twenty years after burying him, they received her letter addressed to his street name. She gets her self congratulations while they get another painful reminder of their loss.

Restoring someone’s rights should be about the individual, not a number on a scoreboard. Compassion and due diligence are not mutually exclusive. Virginians deserve to know how this happened, and what is being done to prevent it from happening again.

By this leftist socialist logic, when they wrote the 1st Amendment, email and the internet hadn't been invented, so every American only has freedom of speech if they are writing with a quill pen & paper. Just a reminder this is who @ltgovhashmi endorsed for US Senate and why the far left is wrong for America and our nation's future.
Abdul El-Sayed on the Second Amendment: "When they promised the right to bear arms, they had muskets. So, yeah, everyone should have equal rights to a musket."

It's Friday and that means it's time for another weekly refinery explainer. Bur first - we remind you again that USOGA are not refiners. We just bring it out of the ground. That's someone else's job and their economics are different from ours. So yelling at us about "price gouging" or "mid-term meddling to elect Democrats" just isn't very astute. (That means smart BTW.) But the vast majority of our loyal followers ARE incredibly smart and we want you know what is going on - so here is the bottom line. 1- The U.S. needs its small refineries now more than ever. They provide regional markets with affordable products. It would help if we had more of them. 2- The U.S. needs permit reform if we expect climb out of this hole we have dug for ourselves. 3- Biden Administration regs saying we could get rid of 64 billion gallons of refined products and no one would notice was stupid. Hope this helps. And remember. The farmer just raises the chickens and grows the potatoes but he doesn't control the cost of your chicken tenders and fries at the gas station -- so to, we produced the oil but we don't control the price at the pump. Enjoy!
