BREAKING: The NPA is expected to be in court on Friday where it intends to, in its ENTIRETY, unconditionally withdraw the criminal case against Crime intelligence boss Dumisani Khumalo, maj-gen Nozipho Madondo, Brig Dineo Mokwele and their co-accused. This comes after the NPA last month communicated that it would provisionally withdraw the charges pending the finalisation of its review and if IDAC had any further evidence to bring. The communication was sent by adv Joy Hlatywayo from IDAC in an email seen by @Newzroom405 Hlatywayo’s name featured quite prominently during the IDAC stream at the #MadlangaCommission as someone who had raised concerns internally about the lack of evidence to support the charges against the senior CI officials.

It will also rely on the evidence before it to conclude its findings and recommendations. “That’s the end of the road as far as having Mr Carrim before us.”

[READ] Here are some of the topics that the #MadlangaCommission will explore with Maj-Gen Feroz Khan when he comes to the inquiry on 1 July 2026. The notice that was sent to Khan forms part of the public court documents shared by the inquiry earlier this evening. The notice, affidavits et. al were in response to Khan’s urgent application challenging the confiscation of his 5 cellphones and 1 iPad by SAPS at his home on 10 May 2026. The commission then got a hard drive from the police containing the content that had been downloaded from the devices.
