As I've covered the Lindsay Clancy trial, I have interviewed several psychiatrists, psychologists, and women who had postpartum psychosis.
Everyone has highlighted how insomnia/lack of sleep makes it much worse.
It's bad and then not sleeping causes it to spiral, they say.

Nemours, where Dr. Avram Mack works, is DEFINITELY a children’s hospital/medical network. They are literally called NEMOURS CHILDREN’S HEALTH.
They are based in Florida, but have locations in Delaware, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland.
My child goes to a Nemours pediatrician. And he’s amazing btw.
And she went to the Nemours Children’s Hospital ED in Orlando 3 years ago when I thought she swallowed a button battery. She didn’t, thank God.
All children. That’s their specialty.
That’s who they take care of.

What is wild to me is that most people understand a person can black out from alcohol, lose control, or have no memory of what they did. Yet some of those same people refuse to believe a severe mental health crisis or certain medications can profoundly alter a person’s perception, judgment, memory, or behavior.
None of that automatically excuses criminal conduct. It also does not mean it happened in every case. But dismissing the possibility outright ignores decades of medical research and established legal principles.
