High diesel prices? Iran war is choking the supply. Trump gets Putin to dump hundreds of thousands of tons of Russian diesel and temporarily drops the sanctions so Americans can actually fill up cheaper. Still gets roasted because the money Russia makes might help pay for its war in Ukraine. Same people screaming about the pump are furious he tried to fix it. He can’t win. Literally can’t win. Make it make sense.

NEW BORN INFANTS CAN BE TERMINATED (INFANTICIDE) AFTER A LIVE BIRTH IN MINNESOTA MN Governor Tim Walz signing to REPEAL the Minnesota “Born Alive Infants Protection Act.” Now a botched abortion (an infant born alive after a botched abortion) or a healthy new born infant, Can Now Be LEGALLY TERMINATED after a live birth. This is defined as INFANTICIDE. Keeping the new born drugged until it's death is been labled as " COMFORT CARE" Look how elated the women around Waltz are behaving…

Schuyler Colfax was America's 17th Vice President, and he was supposed to be at Ford's Theatre the night Lincoln was shot. He grew up poor in New York. His father died before he was born. He moved to Indiana as a teenager, became a newspaper editor in South Bend, and worked his way into Congress. During the Civil War he became Speaker of the House. In January 1865, when the 13th Amendment abolishing slavery came up for its final vote, Colfax did something Speakers almost never do. He cast a vote himself, just so his name would be on it. On the evening of April 14, 1865, Colfax went to the White House to see Lincoln. The President invited him to come along to the theater that night. Colfax said no because he was leaving on a trip out West. A few hours later Lincoln was shot. In 1868 Ulysses S. Grant picked him as his running mate. Colfax was so famous for his constant grin that people called him "Smiler." He's one of only two people in American history to serve as both Speaker of the House and Vice President. Then his career blew up. The Crédit Mobilier scandal exposed congressmen who had taken cheap railroad stock in exchange for political favors. Colfax was one of them. His explanations for the money didn't hold up, and his reputation never recovered. He was dropped from the ticket in 1872. He spent the rest of his life on the lecture circuit. In January 1885, he was changing trains in Mankato, Minnesota and walked about three quarters of a mile between stations in subzero cold. He collapsed and died in the depot. At first, nobody there knew who he was. Today the thing most people know with his name on it is Colfax Avenue in Denver, a street once called the longest, wickedest street in America.

Campaign finance records show Eversource employees, including CEO Joe Nolan, the CFO, multiple VPs, government affairs and community relations staff, an attorney, and others, have given nearly $50,000 over time to Gov. Maura Healey’s re-election committee. Fourteen of those donations arrived since September 10, including the legal maximum $1,000 from Nolan on September 21. Matching amounts went to Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll the same days. The timing lines up with Healey’s push for faster federal review of a gas pipeline expansion Eversource supports. Nolan has said he recently had a friendly chat with Healey and Driscoll. At an industry conference he told the room her criticism of utility “greed” and profits is just election-year noise. He said they have good relations, the knocks are “nothing personal,” and after the election “the volume is going to go right down.” He has given the annual maximum to her in most recent years. Nothing here is illegal. These are personal checks from employees, not company money, and the individual limit is $1,000 a year. Still, Massachusetts ratepayers face some of the highest electric bills in the country. The governor appoints the DPU commissioners who approve Eversource’s rate cases, and the company keeps reporting strong profits and large executive pay packages. Nolan’s own words point to a simple preference: a known regulator and quieter criticism once the campaign ends. Any particular reason the people running the utility that keeps sending you those bills would rather she stay in office?

BREAKING: Another black eye for the Mass State Police: New trooper Jack B. Cesarz was fired yesterday, with a dishonorable discharge, just before his probationary period was about to end, after which he would have become a full trooper. Cesarz, a former funeral home employee, was "terminated" just 3 days after a SPAM (the troopers' union) golf tournament at Brookmeadow Country Club in Canton. As the tournament was ending, and drinks were flowing freely, a couple of local high school teams showed up for their practice, and some horrific anti-gay remarks were slurred their way. According to the state comptroller, Cesarz has made $117,661.52 this year before his "termination." Hope Cesarz has a memento of the 2026 H Troop Golf Tournament that proved to be his swan song at the MSP. State Police dragging their feet as usual after being asked for comment. Will update report if/when they respond to inquiries. DEVELOPING....

On October 10, 1950, the White House announced that President Truman would fly across the Pacific to meet General Douglas MacArthur. It was a strange situation. Truman was the commander in chief. MacArthur was his general. But the two men had never met. MacArthur had been in Asia since before World War II and hadn't set foot in the United States in years. He was a living legend, and he knew it. Truman was a former haberdasher from Missouri who'd never been fully comfortable with him. They agreed to meet on Wake Island, a tiny speck of coral in the middle of the Pacific. Truman flew roughly 7,000 miles to get there. MacArthur flew about 2,000 from Tokyo. Many people saw it as the president going to the general, not the other way around. The meeting happened on October 15. It lasted only a few hours. Truman asked the biggest question of the moment: would China come into the war? MacArthur told him there was very little chance. And if they did, he said, they'd be slaughtered. Four days later, Chinese troops began crossing the Yalu. Six months after that, Truman fired him.

Jeffrey Hunter famously rejected Star Trek to protect his A-list film career. Instead, he was reduced to shooting low-budget B-movies—one of which would ultimately cost him his life. Hunter was an established film actor—having starred opposite John Wayne in The Searchers and played Jesus in King of Kings—who had already starred as Captain Christopher Pike in the original 1965 Star Trek pilot, "The Cage." When NBC rejected it but ordered a second pilot, Hunter’s wife, Joan "Dusty" Bartlett, convinced him that committing to a television series would ruin his status as a movie star. He formally withdrew in April 1965, prompting creator Gene Roddenberry to cast William Shatner instead. His pivot back to feature films proved disastrous for his career trajectory. His first post-Trek project was the 1965 Warner Bros. thriller Brainstorm, which became the last major studio picture where he received top billing. As leading roles in American cinema dried up, he followed a path common to fading Hollywood stars in the late 1960s: shooting lower-budget genre films overseas. Between 1966 and 1969, Hunter made the Spaghetti Western Find a Place to Die (1968), the low-budget sci-fi film Dimension 5 (1966), and took a supporting role in the Cinerama epic Custer of the West (1967). To keep working, he also had to accept guest-starring roles on American television—the very medium he had rejected to protect his status as a film actor—appearing on shows like The F.B.I.and Insight. In November 1968, while filming a mafia movie called ¡Viva América! (later released as Cry Chicago) in Spain, Hunter was injured on set. A car window rigged with a squib was meant to explode outward during a stunt, but it accidentally blasted inward. The explosion threw Hunter into the car's interior, causing a severe concussion. He suffered from dizzy spells and chronic headaches in the months that followed. On May 26, 1969, while at his home in Los Angeles, Hunter suffered a cerebral hemorrhage—likely a delayed complication from the on-set explosion—and fell down a short flight of stairs, fracturing his skull. He was found by his new wife, actress Emily McLaughlin, and rushed to the hospital. He died during surgery the following morning at the age of 42, just eight days before the final original episode of Star Trek aired on NBC.
