Thank you to the @Smithfield_PD, @SmfldRecreation, Smithfield Emergency Management Agency and anyone else who made this event possible and safe. Thank you as well to everyone who signed my nomination papers and helped put me on the ballot this September!

Happy Flag Day! 🇺🇸 But what exactly is Flag Day? Flag Day commemorates June 14, 1777, when the first official American flag was adopted by the Continental Congress. It looked a little different from the flag we know today, but was one of the most famous early designs. It featured 13 white stars arranged in a circle on a blue field, representing the original 13 colonies, with the red and white stripes that remain a symbol of our nation to this day. Last week in Johnston, we celebrated the flag that has represented America’s history, resilience, and freedom for 250 years. 🇺🇸 It was great to pay homage to the flag and to the veterans at the Morgan Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, thank you for having me!

From East Greenwich’s Memorial Day service to the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, the rain held off and I spent Memorial Day honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day service in Johnston this morning honoring the 42 Johnston men who were killed in action. I enjoy attending these memorial services, never forgetting the people who sacrificed their lives so we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. Also isn't this tank awesome!?

Is it true that trump tripped and fell in the White House? And he is now going to sue the US government for $6 trillion but will instruct his plaintiff’s attorneys and the government defendant’s attorneys to settle for $4 trillion?

Over the past few weeks, I have had the privilege of spending time with seniors in both Johnston and Cranston—listening, sharing stories, and seeing firsthand just how important these centers are to the communities they serve. For many older adults, senior centers are so much more than a place to gather. They are spaces for friendship, activity, support, routine, and connection. They provide community in a season of life where that matters deeply. Rhode Island’s seniors helped build the communities we call home, and it’s always an honor to spend time with them, hear their stories, and recognize the value these centers bring every single day.

On Tuesday, we had the honor of joining the Rhode Island Brotherhood of Correctional Officers for their Memorial and Wreath Laying Ceremony. It was a meaningful opportunity to pause, reflect, and honor the correctional officers who dedicated their lives to public service, while remembering those we have lost. These men and women take on one of the most difficult jobs in public safety, often without the recognition they deserve. Rhode Island is safer because of their service and sacrifice, and it’s important that we continue to stand with the officers and families who give so much to our communities.
