Dumb premise, study design etc…
Imagine randos being called experts. Also imagine the stakes, wgaf on this. Why would they go out of their way to credit the tool they used?
When I put furniture together I have never credited my screwdriver, i say i did it. Lmao
This is one of the most important pieces of social science on human and AI interaction that I’ve seen in some time. Experts follow agentic advice the vast majority of the time (causally), but only a tiny fraction credit the agent—majority think they came to decision on their own volition.
Reminds me of the classic Nisbett and Wilson study on people following outside influence without realizing it
“ But as more work is handed to AI—including AI safety research—these judgment calls are the main levers for people's own values to influence outcomes.
If people defer to AI without noticing, then "human in the loop" might provide less assurance than people expect.”
Have to realize majority of therapy is people whining or dumping banal self centered things on someone looking for affirmation, AITA (usually).
Like everyone else, most only want to talk and think of themselves.
Gotta pay up get others to pretend to care.
I dislike that empathy services cost people a lot of $, because they shouldn't
Back when I was dabbling in dating coaching, a guy mocked the idea
He said people used to have communities who served as dating coaches, so paying $ was absurd
A girl piped up for me, but I felt him 🤷♀️
Therapy shouldn't be expensive. Daycare shouldn't be expensive. Care work shouldn't be expensive.
The problem is, to make it cheap, we'd have to pool society's resources, and people understandably have a kneejerk negative reaction to that.
But I'd happily pay taxes to help a person who needs it get therapy, or daycare, or a health aide.
Imagine if we agreed as a society that care work is so valuable we ought to fund & make it free or cheap 😍
If AI uses, and needs our content, AI needs to pay for it.
If they cant use it, they cease to be useful.
A truly parasitic relationship right now.
Dont understand Amazons idea with Alexa & devices.
Alexa, just trash. UI is awful, cant do almost anything w/o the phone app, nothing works intuitively, forced bloatware, limitations cuz they hate you, confusing and annoying.
It makes you not want to use it, obviously bad. Y?
People that have been wrong on inflation for 6+ years now pretend supply and demand arent two sides of the same coin.
Sure, we cant increase supply of certain things, but we can decrease demand, and ofc, those things hit all categories with a lag.
Energy=economy foundation.
Silly
“Got no money and you got no car, got no woman, and there you are”.
Its not medical insurance its bankruptcy insurance.
The low prob event is something serious enougg to drain you financially whike removing you from the workforce.
