Continuing my Open Hardware journey, today I've published SCH/PCB library components for the Raspberry Pi Compute Module 0 (CM0) in both Altium Designer and KiCad formats. github.com/mfolejewski/RPI_S… Hopefully, this will help the CM0 gain more traction during the current DRAM supply shortage and contribute to its wider global availability, inspiring many new hardware projects based on the CM0.

Just spot the 10 differences between these two images. CoreChips SR9900A vs. Realtek RTL8152B. Another example of a Chinese company manufacturing a functionally compatible, (and lower-cost) 1:1 alternative to Taiwanese tech. Both ICs are currently available through LCSC. At least you have a choice.

OK, CM0 symbol is almost ready. There are some differences, for e.g. #120 pin, which should be marked GPIO_VREF base on the MoCM0 project data.

I’m very grateful to the Raspberry Pi team for updating the CM0 documentation a few days ago. Well done. I will soon publish a SCH/PCB library model for the CM0 module on GitHub. I sincerely hope that this publication, together with two or three CM0-based projects I plan to release in the future, will help popularize the CM0. By promoting this excellent module, perhaps we will eventually see its wider global availability (apart from Chinise market as for now) - which I genuinely hope for. With the current DRAM memory shortage, the CM0 has become increasingly relevant for cost-sensitive applications, and I believe it deserves much more attention. The current datasheet, including all revisions, is available here: pip-assets.raspberrypi.com/c…

Welcome to Poland! It's clean, safe, and beautiful here. But please only come for tourism. :) For 30 years, Poland has caught up with Western countries, and in some respects, perhaps even surpassed them. We are a positive example of economic transformation and sustainable development of the state and society. Of course, we have our problems, but they're not as dramatic as in the West (well, maybe apart from demographics). I'm truly glad I was born and live here, and I thank God for such a homeland. I recommend following the Globalista channel on YouTube, a patriot who promotes our country and also highlights problems in the Western world. I myself am proud to live here and am not ashamed of my homeland. youtu.be/77OIAgg-GFQ?si=6Fzw… More links in the comments.
Been in Wrocław, Poland for a week. Compared to Germany: - Zero cash, 100% mobile payments possible everywhere - Fast mobile connections - Non-grumpy cafe/restaurant/hotel staff - AC in many places - Tasteful architecture replacing iron curtain-era buildings (but alas they have gone through an ugly "blue mirror"-era) - Many new and fairly large cars: indicative of spending power (but also: many buses, trams, taxis, etc.) - Many EVs - Lots of babies! Great country, easy to see Poland become the heart of Europe geographically once Ukraine is part of the EU.

It's always rewarding to see your work recognized by the maker community. Huge thanks to @adafruit for sharing my project snippet. Open hardware and knowledge sharing are what make engineering communities stronger. I'm glad this project can be useful to others.

I think Doom should run smoothly. ...and the question is, can we run Crysis on it?

Perhaps not everyone knows this, but the CM5's reverse engineering was done by Eric Schlaepfer, who is also the co-author of the book "Open Circuits: The Inner Beauty of Electronic Components" and runs the @TubeTimeUS profile. Well done Eric, great work!

Does greed have any limits? Further price hikes only accelerate the onset of another crisis. We live in strange times, with only the names changing from crisis to crisis: MLCC, GPU, chip shortage, DRAM, AI?
Samsung just hit record Q2 operating profit of ~$58.4B, leapfrogging NVIDIA to claim world #1 AI demand is fueling a massive memory chip boom. Samsung, SK Hynix & friends cooking. $NVDA $SSNLF

Greed knows no bounds, and further price increases for DRAM-based products are expected this year. "Pride comes before a fall." I hope the companies responsible for the unprecedented crisis in the DRAM market will be held accountable for the supply constraints and epic RAM price hikes. Let this crisis end already. We face the specter of an AI crisis and the bursting of this bubble.
Samsung has made a 755% increase in profit in Q1 2026. Nearly $40bn for just 3 months. It is expected to make as much profit in 2026 as it did in the last 20 years. All from RAM prices, which they are being investigated for price fixing.

I would like to see Chinese brands spreading to Europe. If they are good, I would be using them instead. Indefinitely. The big three can fuck off, for life.

I let my imagination run wild... I know it's a bit crazy, but do you remember the OUYA game console? Yeah, I know the project ended in failure. I really like this compact cube. Maybe we could make a retro console like this? RetroPie should run smoothly on CM0.

OH, it looks like it would fit perfectly into a TPLink router case? What's needed? ETH + CM0 + USB + USB-C + PD + 12W PoE (I hope). Who's volunteering to create such a 3D printed case?

Hey, look what arrived this week! Well, it looks like CM0 will be my favorite pastime during the summer break 🏝️☀️ What do you think, what project should be created first: 1) MirkoPC Lite 2) CM0 (Jetson Nano) 3) your awesome idea 4) Tiny internet camera (ETH, PoE, MIPI).

What I would definitely improve is the power button and the Boot mode switch (slide switch) - one like the one in Modulo4 (Pi 5 style) would be ideal.
