🔴 Kim Hellberg reveals #Boro's David Strelec is still 'some way short' of full fitness - and couldn't have started Wednesday's game at Wrexham. Means he's probably an unlikely starter at Watford too - even if Will Lankshear is still missing...

Let’s not boil tonight’s result down to purely Lankshear not being available (though he’d have put in a better shift than Joseph)
The set up from kick off was all wrong imo, we’re top of the league and worried about how they can hurt us rather than how we can hurt them
I've not included Barron or Leo cause they're clearly not gonna play.
Look how light we are centrally.
People can have their opinions on left back, I still think it's poor.
We have no threat centrally if Berhalter or McGree aren't there or off form.
Kim is working wonders atm.
We lost Whittaker and Hackney in the same window and only replaced them with Berhalter.
We were already light on players who could play central last year.
Yes we signed Barron, MPH and have Leo. But if we want to be promoted, we have to address the lack of central options in Jan.
Yep
Replying to @Boro_Breakdown
Good question. For the most part, yes. The issue is the depth in central areas. If any one of Morris, Berhalter and McGree are either injured or off form, we are so light in the middle.
In terms of individual quality, it's hard to disagree.
Berhalter maybe deserves to be in if he can find a higher consistency.
Hot take...
Southampton fans have become more tolerable than Boro fans this past couple months.
They're baiting the shit out of you and you're falling for it.

Strelec slander will not be tolerated I’m afraid. The bloke hasn’t featured in this new set up which is more suited for a CF
It was a difficult time for the strikers last season and providing he hasn’t downed tools and is pushing to leave, I’m excited to see Strelec in rotation
Arfsten isn't a full back. Try again.
Max Arfsten scored, then got benched. Middlesbrough are wasting one of their best weapons.
Sept 19, St Andrew’s. Max Arfsten starts at left wing-back, scores his first Middlesbrough goal and walks off with an 8.1 match rating.
He hasn’t started a league game since.
Five league appearances since then, all off the bench: 3 minutes, then 12, 16 and 21, and against Charlton he came on in the 77th minute.
And his numbers are some of the best in the league.
3.50 successful dribbles per 90. That’s the best at Middlesbrough by a distance. Callum Brittain is second at 1.80, about half as many. Only four players in the entire Championship do better.
77.3% dribble success. Of the Championship’s top five dribblers, he’s the only one above 60%. Corey Blackett-Taylor completes fewer than a third of his.
Elite chance creation. Arfsten sits above the 90th-percentile line for both open-play chances created and xA per 90.
That’s the “high volume, high quality” corner where the league’s best creators live. Before the Charlton game, FotMob had him at 12 chances created and 1.53 xA in just 425 minutes.
A fullback who beats his man more than three times out of four should be starting.
Hellberg has a weapon. It’s time he used it.

Bloke has never studied psychology in his life
Quote from Kim Hellberg yesterday.
Middlesbrough top of the league and favourites for the title because they’ve set the highest standard and been the best team in the Championship so far.
But this is an example of why they won’t win the league.
Bad framing from Hellberg. Demon emotions when things don’t go his way. Victimhood.
Freaks out over anything that goes against his best plans and always someone else’s responsibility to fix what’s making him feel bad.
Note: Middlesbrough scored after TWELVE MINUTES yesterday.
If this was Hellberg’s experience on the touchline so early in the game, imagine where his head goes if Charlton keep it up for 75.
Last season, Boro took 31 points from Hellberg’s first 14 matches.
Then the pressure came and they started dropping silly points, failing to win in six straight home games against teams mostly relegation candidates.
They were their own worst enemy and it starts with the accumulation of needless anxiety like this.
