@MinersLacrosse were the first team since the 1988 Fergus Thistles to win three straight Presidents Cups (2016, 2017, 2018). Tomorrow they will try to prevent the @LadnerPioneers from taking some of the lustre off of that run as they try to accomplish the same feat @PresCupLax
Pack have self destructed and beat themselves for the past fifteen years. You benefited from it directly a decade ago in that championship game where just one of twenty plays doesn't go brutally wrong that game is over. Big difference between not being good & choking @LWillson_82

The Packers are getting absolutely jobbed by the refs today
This is egregious
I never understand why teams elect to kick in this OT format. It's only 10:00 and you can easily be letting the opposition go 2 for 1 on you

Cont. Thank you specifically to @JordanCornfield for this past week and the opportunity to cover this tournament. You're a special person in the Edmonton lacrosse community. Nobody deserves this championship more than you.
And @JBML06 who just keeps on ticking. Timeless
What a @PresCupLax to call alongside @PxP4Sports @largiersports @GrahamMosimann & the @4vengeancemedia team. Was truly a memorable experience.
And of course congratulations to @MinersLacrosse who take their FOURTH Presidents Cup national title and do it in dominant fashion.

There simply isn’t enough talent to support this many teams, you’re going to create a perpetual underclass of teams stuck in purgatory with no path to contending

Full arena in Akwe, pyro/smoke show. 1.8k people watching 1st period.
Whitby, empty on the bench side. Jr A, proclaimed lacrosse mecca by OLA. Only 800 watching 1st period.
Tell me again how Akwesasne, Kahnawake & Nepean can’t support Jr A…let’s add Maple Ridge too 🤷♂️

Do you realize how unlikeable of a country you have to be for LATINOS to root for SPAIN (the country that colonized them) over you??????

WATCH — @Byoussef: “This is what Israel does every day.”
🇺🇸 media isn’t even talking about the fact that 🇮🇱 killed the guy that organized a World Cup watch party in Gaza (and 2 kids) 3 minutes after the Egypt-Argentina match started.

The Iranian team is playing their asses off despite dealing with BS U.S. security protocols that give their opponents a competitive advantage. Hats off to those athletes for performing the way they are under unnecessary mental and physical stress.
What a run brother. Growing up, I always told you the Habs would be the team to draft you if you made the show. Fourteen damn seasons is a lifetime in the NHL and you overcame so many odds along the way. What a run. All the best on your next stop @BGALLY17.

My father is 87 years old. He has survived cancer several times. Prostate cancer, bladder cancer, skin cancer. He has had radiation and chemo. He has had tumors removed. He has had several big surgeries. He’s had it all. Add to that he has diabetes and on 3 occasions came very close to going into a diabetic coma. For many years now, my father sleeps day and night because he has no energy to stay awake and because he’s in too much pain.
This season, he watched some Montreal Canadiens games. He loved what he saw. He loved the team. He loved the staff. In the playoffs, my father watched every Habs playoff game. And, he celebrated every win. The Montreal Canadiens gave my father energy, they made him happy, they made him forget about his health and his pain. This is the power of the Habs.
Thank you @canadiensMTL 🔴⚪️🔵
Every time MTL wins a series it's "luck" yet as this graph shows, they literally had the most dominant series win in the last fifteen years across the league until tonight.
I swear to God people don't understand this sport or what they are watching
That said awful end to the yr

Recency bias will fuel some awful takes about how the Habs “didn’t deserve” to be in the Conference Finals.
The reality is they’re the youngest team in the NHL and shattered preseason expectations on their way to 106 points. They went toe-to-toe with the best team in the East in Round 1 and won, then did it again in Round 2.
Their reward for coming out of the Atlantic Division gauntlet in 14 gruelling games (+5 OTs) was a Canes team that needed just 8 games to beat two borderline playoff teams on their way to the ECF. The Habs were still two overtime losses away from leading the series through three games before eventually hitting a wall. They completely ran out of gas and the Canes stepped on their throats.
They got steamrolled in the end, but anyone saying they didn’t deserve to be there is lying to you and themselves. Tough end to a fun run, but a great experience for a young group that’s arrived ahead of schedule and showed us why the future should be incredibly exciting.
