@itsjojosiwa You have been an inspiration for my 7/8 students this school year. #jojosdojo #youglowgirl #livethedreamlikeacandyqueen

@RCSDPodPD @JCasaTodd I agree that teaching to fear doesn’t work. Even adults tune out. How can we expect kids to listen and be engaged? It is then a struggle to reengage those kids after they have tuned out. Providing a safe place is essential to positive learning. #RCSDConnect

I really enjoyed the question “who inspires you on SM”. It informs our teaching, and it allows us to scaffold exercises for students to reflect on who they view, the message, and impact on them.
This year had its challenges, but there were so many things to be grateful for. #RCSDconnect #growconnectlead
Social media connects our Ss with the global community, and they begin to see their opinions and actions have power. “When we can’t vote action is all that we have.” How Youth-Led Movements are Changing the World youtu.be/l44gH2q6lmc #RCSDconnect #SLRCSD #SocialLEADia

Our students show literacy in a different fashion nowadays and the world around us has rapidly evolved. How have we, as teachers, changed our pedagogy to meet these new needs and demands? #RCSDconnect #SLRCSD #SocialLEADia

Countering fear is crucial when being or empowering digital leaders. Social media allows us to connect with others in meaningful and educational ways. If we were to shy away from all that was different and new, we would never become innovative. #RCSDconnect #SLRCSD #SocialLeadia

There are topics that we teach which are vital, but uncomfortable. This is no different. Social media isn’t disappearing, it is integrated into our lives on all levels. We need to help our students navigate these waters safely and successfully. #RCSDconnect #SLRCSD #SocialLEADia

Using Institute Day to learn about micro-bits and how we can use them in sustainability plans. I am really excited to take this back to my kids! #code4impact #RCSDconnect #RCSDtech
I want to work on Critical Thinking in my classroom this year. This book allowed me to see different avenues to work on to create a more critically literate classroom which is meaningful to the students. #InnovatorsMindsetRCSD #RCSDConnect
The video has a lot of truth to it. We bring different experiences, skills, knowledge to the table. To us, our work is a culmination of these. We lived it, so it isn't special. Yet, our work can be as unique as us due to these attributes. #InnovatorsMindsetRCSD #RCSDConnect
Day 5: If I had another hour per day, I would collaborate with my amazing team of colleagues. Creativity can be sparked, grow, and evolve when you collaborate with your team. #InnovatorsMindsetRCSD #RCSDConnect

Ch. 10 – “Having a laser-like focus on a few things allows us to go deep and push our thinking, while creating new ideas to move forward.” #InnovatorsMindsetRCSD #RCSDConnect

Day 4: Ch. 9 – “Technology should be personalized, not standardized.” Pedagogy allows us to better map out the best way to allow for transformational teaching with technology for our students. #InnovatorsMindsetRCSD #RCSDConnect

Day 2: As an innovative educator, relationships are vital with our students, but also with our colleagues and admin. Relationships are the foundation in which we build off of and need to be strong. #InnovatorsMindsetRCSD #RCSDConnect

“The technology was not innovative, but the use of it was.” We all have a backpack of skills -it is how we utilize these skills that will create an innovative environment. #RCSDconnect #InnovatorsMindsetRCSD

The quote “But in schools, where we focus on our students as the future, growth can no longer be simply an option.” is poignant. We as educators have to continuously learn and not get trapped in the past. #RCSDconnect #InnovatorsMindsetRCSD
