As an avid user of super hard paywalls (no trial) for almost the entirety of my app publishing, I will be the first to say I think that is coming to an end now.
Hard paywalls usually means high refund rates and just constant complaints about payments.
In this new era Apple is in, I feel like this will just be another reason for the them to nuke your account from orbit with no hesitation.
The new meta is deep product development.
Brother, I would have said the same thing last week but I feel like that era may have come to an end.
High refund rates can easily get your payments suspended and now it seems just outright banned.
And the easiest way to get high refund rates, is super hard paywalls.
The #1 mistake I see EVERY new app builder make is offering a free trial.
Pure garbage. Enjoy the billing errors, immediate cancellations, and refund requests.
Convinced anyone that has "success" with them could A/B test no-free trial and would see ARPU double or triple. MINIMUM.
Good thing money wont matter anyways, phew!

Super intelligence agents will at some point do this to gain currency for themselves, not a human
Broski, throw me a couple 100 mil then my dude, since you not gonna need it anyway 🤷

Saving money for the distant future is pointless with the advent of super intelligent abundance
The richest man in the world telling you not to save money is certainly an entertaining outcome.

We 1000% take it for granted the access to intelligence that we currently have.
Let Sora be an example to you that these companies can regress and your future access to this level of intelligence at these prices is not guaranteed.
Everything in the stack that enables this is increasing in costs and most of these frontier labs are unprofitable.
Get your cheap uber rides now.
Apps as we have known them, charted on an exponential are effectively done as an outsized opportunity. The insane arbitrage that existed due to the complexity of creating apps will be gone in short order.
Quite disconcerting having spent so much time in this space, but it is what it is. 🤷
That being said, in the near term in my opinion is that there is no better time in the history of apps to make apps than right now, especially if you have been making apps for a while and understand what it takes to make a great product, but maybe just haven't had the bandwidth and time to make it happen before.
The bar for quality that apps will have to be to breakthrough, even in many cases just get accepted on the appstores, will be very very high, because it is trivial to make a decent app now, but it is also increasingly possible to make Duolingo/Strava quality apps even as a single individual if you know what you are doing.
But that window will close rapidly, so even after making 60+ apps over the years, I think the next 6 - 12 months are all about focus and making a few apps larger than life, mastering network effects, paid advertising and ruthlessly improving every aspect of the app recursively just like large teams at these bigger apps have done.

You don’t have even the tiniest bit of skepticism? Realism? 😅 I love tech and the future is going to be fun, but imagine if Hyundai or Audi or any other company pulled this stunt
After almost the entire year with codex as my main driver, I resubscribed to claude max again because I literally cannot use codex anymore after just a day of work.
These limits are ridiculous, has the rug pull begun?
This might end up being a fatal mistake for OpenAIs growth, once people are forced to find alternatives that we realise actually perform just as good for most tasks, especially when the production APIs get nerfed anyways to accommodate for scale
$600/month just to run out of my usage after 3 days.
The limits have never been this bad.
@thsottiaux please give us a reset today.
You can tell the devastation AI is causing in the 'indie-hacking' community when it has now turned from attempting to make something useful to literally just begging for money.
"bUy Ad SpAcE oN mY BalLsAcK" GTFOuta here with that nonsense, do you have no shame?
Tell me you haven’t met a parent without telling me you haven’t met a parent.
Them mfs busy as hell.
This, Grok Bot looks cool but I wonder if you are essentially paying $200/mo to be training data that will eventually get sherlocked
At some point, by consistently driving home this point that you make money but prefer to drive a Corolla, you are inadvertently and ironically flexing in the same way someone driving a Mercedes would be 🤣
OpenAI are on an unbelievable war path. Scorched earth for real.
