🚀TNA-OS Canaan is now FREE for the Avalon Nano 3s and Avalon Q TNA-OS Canaan, my custom firmware for the Avalon Nano 3s and Avalon Q, is now free for everyone to install. No per-device fee. Why the change? TNA-OS is a one-man project: every line of code, every reverse-engineering session, every bug fix and every new board port is done by me. Until now, all my firmware was given out in exchange for a coffee, as a one-off install. Honestly, that model wasn't sustainable: a single payment per device can't fund the ongoing reverse engineering, new features, bug fixes and support for new hardware like the Avalon Q. A small, transparent dev fee keeps development going for as long as the firmware runs, and it opens TNA-OS up to everyone. To everyone who bought me a coffee: thank you. 🧡 You took a chance on independent firmware when it was brand new. Your support paid for the late nights, the reverse engineering and the hardware that made this project real. Without you, TNA-OS wouldn't exist, and the Avalon Q port would never have happened. You're the reason this firmware is now free for everyone. From this version on, every device runs the same firmware with the same 2 % fee, so everyone is on equal terms and every future update reaches all of you. You were here first, and that won't be forgotten. How the 2 % dev fee works: The dev pool simply joins your normal pool rotation with a 2 % share. Your pools mine the other 98 %, by your own quotas. Your pools, quotas, failover and settings work exactly as before. The fee doesn't take one of your 8 pool slots. It's fully transparent. The dashboard shows the dev fee's live hashrate and share count, and the API reports the same, so you can check it yourself any time. Blocking the dev pool won't get you that 2 % back… it'll just tell you you're cheap 😉 Aside from the dev fee changes V4 introduces : 🔥Autotuner (beta/wip in v4): tunes every chip for max hashrate, efficiency, heater mode or overclock, within your power limit Install it with the TNA web flasher as usual: 👇 lnbits.molonlabe.holdings/tn…

Put all the pods that are currently being created, finalized, or still conceptualized together in one place so I’m reminded of them every day. Powered by a single 1200W PSU with the PSUBB breakout board, and all enclosed in one of my latest cases.

TNA OS Canaan - 0.4.3 is live. Change log: Fixed manual fan speed being ignored after Power ON (both boards, reported on the Avalon Q). Power ON started the Avalon Q fans at 100 % and nothing put your manual speed back until you pressed Save while mining. The dashboard then read 0 %, and a Save from that page really stopped the fans and stored 0 % as your setting. Your manual speed is now a separate setting from the live fan reading. It is re-applied within a second of Power ON, every 10 s while mining, and when a temperature warning clears. The Q's back fan pair is now saved and shown too. Fixed custom presets saving without their voltage when the voltage had decimals (every .5 V step on the Avalon Q). Preset errors are now shown instead of "Preset saved". BDOC: frequency now goes above 600 MHz, up to 1200 MHz, using the stock frequency settings for 603–1200 MHz (normal mode stays at 600 MHz). Nano 3s core voltage up to 4500 mV (normal 3100–3900 mV). Avalon Q string voltage up to 27.0 V (normal 21.5–26.0 V) and PSU power limit 1850 W (normal 1750 W). The Nano 3s USB power cap is off in BDOC. Leaving BDOC brings frequency and voltage back inside the normal limits. Fixed a Nano 3s core voltage above 3900 mV in BDOC crashing the miner, and crashing again at every start. Fixed the per-chip editor resetting BDOC values above 600 MHz back to 600. New (Nano 3s): USB PSU limit setting in USB-C PD mode, default 140 W, up to 200 W, for USB-C chargers rated above 140 W. Autotuner is now locked behind an unlock code (Settings → Autotuner). It is off after every reboot until the code is entered again. Turning it off, or a reboot, puts your own frequency, per-chip and voltage settings back; the tuner no longer saves its results over them. Changed the hashrate figures (1m, 10m, 1h, 1d) to count every result the chips return, instead of only shares that met the pool difficulty. This makes the 1-minute figure far steadier. The chips now report at difficulty 1024 (Avalon Q) or 64 (Nano 3s), or the pool difficulty if that is lower. What is sent to your pools is unchanged. New (Nano 3s): USB Ethernet. The TP-Link UE306 (ASIX AX88179) works in the USB port in place of the WiFi dongle. The miner gets its address by DHCP, even on a fresh install, and skips the WiFi setup AP. New: firmware update notice. The dashboard pops up when a newer TNA-OS Canaan version is on the TNA web flasher, with its notes. The System page has a Firmware updates card with a Check for updates button. The check runs from your browser, not the miner. API: new POST /api/tuner/unlock; new fields tuner.unlocked, manualFan1Speed, usbPowerLimitW, usbPowerLimitMaxW; manualFanSpeed is now your saved manual setting and fanspeed the live duty. As with every firmware update, flashing resets saved settings. | happy hashing: update available on TNA WEB FLASHER: lnbits.molonlabe.holdings/tn…

Previous customer gave me a call that one of they’re other Qaxe++ had fallen, they were unsure what to do as they’d never seen a voltage error and asked if I’d be able to take a look for them, I happily obliged as per usual, csd took a dump again per usual but she’s all fixed now

Free the Canaan's! Amazing work @MolonLabeVC, now to get my hands on an Avalon Q...

My home heating setup is a bit different this year. I'm running 3 ENC-2 miners in a town home that's 3 floors (800sqft / floor). They turn on at 21C and off at 23C - fully automated. This helps resolve the common problem of air stratification in town homes or homes with multiple living levels. Each hashrate heater puts out about 1250W or 4300 BTUs and is quieter than most air purifiers.

Yep, my Avalon Q is mining thanks to TNA-OS. Happily paying 2% fee cause I can keep 98% lol otherwise I would get 0%

Can very much confirm, TNA OS is a great tool for 1 reviving “dead” hardware, and using it to diagnose and repair faulty/dead hardware back to working order🤪

As unfortunate as it is, no more FAFO with these machines today, back to good old repairs jobs to get customers units up and running again! Another csd internally shorted not letting the board try to enumerate before throwing and overheat warning

No notable public posts label MolonLabeVC a grifter specifically for that shift. He switched TNA-OS Canaan from one-time coffee donations (for installs) to free flashing plus a transparent 2% ongoing dev fee, citing the one-time model as unsustainable for a solo project’s reverse-engineering, updates, and new hardware support. The fee joins pool rotation openly; earlier builds ran at 0%. Community feedback on it appears mostly neutral-to-positive so far.
