America before 2020.
There's a saying on American social media:
"Be the American that Japanese people think you are."
I'm Japanese. I've lived in Tokyo my whole life.
So let me tell you what we actually say about you, when you're not in the room.
"When someone falls down on the street, we pretend not to see. We're protecting their pride. Americans run straight at them. They don't care about the pride. They care about the knee." (Office worker, 38)
"An American will stop four lanes of traffic for a family of ducks. And then everyone in the cars claps for the ducks." (Taxi driver, 61)
"If you lend an American a pen, you will never see it again. If you need a kidney, they'll ask your blood type." (Nurse, 45)
"At kids' soccer games, they cheer when the other team's kid scores. The other team's parents look confused. Then they cheer too." (Youth soccer coach, 52, lived one year in Ohio)
"A man sneezed on a bus in Chicago. Eleven strangers said 'Bless you.' He said 'thank you' eleven times. Nobody on that bus thought this was strange." (University student, 21)
"At an airport in Texas, I watched a soldier try to pay for his lunch. The cashier said someone already had. He asked who. She said, 'Somebody who didn't want you to know.'" (Retired teacher, 70)
"American fathers cannot braid hair. But they will watch a video at midnight for an hour so their daughter's hair looks right on picture day." (Hair stylist, 33)
"I ran the Chicago Marathon once. Strangers stood in the cold for hours holding signs for people they will never meet. At mile 20, a man I'd never seen read the name off my bib and screamed it like he'd raised me." (Runner, 48)
"When Americans get lost, they ask a stranger. If the stranger is also lost, they become a team." (Tour guide, 39)
"They ask the waitress her name. And then they remember it." (Restaurant owner, 66)
And one more. From my father. He's 76. He doesn't say much about anything. This is the longest thing I have ever heard him say about another country.
"Every time something terrible happens in America, I watch the news, and I look for one thing.
The people running toward it.
There are always so many."
So, America.
You don't have to become the Americans we think you are.
We're not imagining you.
We're remembering you.

This is what Democrats do to women who step out of line. They also assume a man made them think and say these heretical things … been there.
I always find it weird in both directions when people act like they know how someone would feel about something when they’ve passed years ago. People change their views often, this is such a silly exercise.
Literally no one under 50 wants the GOP to be “rebuilt” into what it was. But keep shaking your fist at the sky old man
Excellent, by @Peggynoonannyc.
"The president should be dealt a rebuke, a rebellion and a rout. Only then can the Republican Party be rebuilt."

He called us "bitter clingers," he told business owners they didn't build that, he weaponized the IRS to target conservatives, he called you a racist if you disagreed with him, and he spied on Donald Trump's campaign.
Now, he wants unity.

I know this is going to be shocking to democrats and liberals but almost nothing we did during COVID was reasonable or supported by science.
Shutting down schools, ignoring natural immunity, closing parks and beaches, 6 feet distancing, and wearing masks were highly ineffective and totally fake. You were lied to and some people’s mental illness forces them to still live in those conditions.

specifically though what was wrong with her covid response? While she was in charge how was what she did not reasonable and supported by science?

“Bridget you seem more right wing was there a radicalizing event?”
Yes. As a matter of fact there was.
Many mothers won’t ever vote Dem again after Covid. Weird they still don’t understand this
Just talked to an Ohio voter who said she didn’t care about the Vivek ad. Voting for this loser, creep, chud anyway, because she didn’t like Acton’s Covid response. I’ve also heard from lots of Paxton voters who are happy to hold their nose to keep the state red. Don’t count on anti-Trump turnout. GO VOTE.

Today I learned that @MittRomney somehow had the gall to run for President of the United States of America without even so much as a basic Wikipedia education about the American Revolutionary War.
For those of you who are not Americans, George Washington did, in fact, do a deal to end the American Revolution. The deal was called the Treaty of Paris. It was negotiated by Franklin, Jay, and Adams. It physically still exists in the national archives.
Mitt Romney doesn't know his own country's history.
He also doesn't understand asymmetric warfare, which is a thing that you kinda might want the Commander in Chief of the military might of the United States of America to understand.
Asymmetric wars are always fought for the purpose of getting the larger force to decide the juice isn't worth the squeeze, and to give up and go home. Usually this is punctuated by negotiations.
When you are in a war, that war is not just a military conflict. It is a contest on every level of society, and quite frequently it is punctuated by negotiations which leverage the strength of what you have achieved in other arenas.
The real moral of this story is that the political class isn't smarter than you. And they aren't more knowledgeable, either.
They're just better positioned and less scrupulous.
When they run for office, they do not bring to that office any great talent or unifying vision. They are simply the central node of a network of advisors, policy wonks, lobbyists, and tame think-tank intellectuals.
They will say nothing to that hasn't been scripted, and hear no questions they were not coached for in advance.
George Washington, were he here to unite us today, would have these men tarred, feathered, and thrown in the reflecting pool.
I keep tabs on alpha school bc it is 180 degrees from classical schools, but they are both aiming to solve the same problem.
I’ve watched how much better my children are at recalling information and attribute that to reading real books and writing their own notes.
App learning still puzzles me.
They are all so smug and self righteous it is hard coded in leftist personalities.
Kenan Thompson says Shane Gillis’ controversial “SNL” monologue “overshadowed” the entire episode:
“I know Shane, and I don’t know him to be a mean person, necessarily,” Thompson said at the Axios Media Trends Live summit. “But if he were to come back [to ‘SNL’], I’m sure we would have a conversation of like, ‘How do you think that went?’ You know what I mean? And, ‘What do you think you could have done?’ Like a little kid, you know? I would just sit him down and be like, ‘So what do you think we could change there, pal?'”
"Grace [Reiter], one of our newest cast members, had a phenomenal show, and it’s sad because nobody’s even talking about it,” Thompson added. “Even [musical guest] Rosalía is getting overshadowed because we want to go back and forth on what’s offensive and what’s not.”

Nice to hear it said out loud. This is how they treat local normie republican moms and dads running for board of Ed too. Truly evil people.
