BONGANI MTHOMBENI APPOINTED CEO
Atana has appointed Bongani Mthombeni as its new Chief Executive Officer.
A board member and executive leader within the company, she succeeds Interim CEO Vidar Johannessen, who has led the business since February.
Mthombeni brings 18 years of experience across engineering, infrastructure and professional services, having held senior leadership roles at several organisations.
Her appointment comes as Atana continues its transition following its move to independent local ownership and a period of significant change.
As CEO, she will focus on strengthening operational performance, deepening client relationships, developing talent and driving sustainable growth across South Africa and the wider African market.

I still don’t understand why he and the other senior police officers didn’t ruthlessly deal with Paul O'Sullivan.

"Well it's up to Mr Kruger. I made it quite clear to him that I was not prepared, just because of his threats, I was not prepared at all to change the membership of Inkatha and confine it to Zulus as he suggested.." - Chief Mangosuthu Buthelezi, 1978.

Hidden in the excitement in this video clip are "the three inabilities" that weakened and continue to weaken the ANC:
- inability to manage leadership transition,
- inability to cope with losing leadership positions, and
- inability to subject oneself to new leaders (to be led).
In this video clip, JZ, TM and Terror, are all happy after their re-election at the 2002 Stellenbosch Conference. At the subsequent conference in 2007 Polokwane, JZ and TM contested for President. TM and his entire slate that included Terror lost.
As a result, TM stopped attending NEC meetings, completely withdrew from political limelight and Terror formed his own political party. JZ, the victor, used every available platform to lambast the two on how they betrayed the liberation movement.
When JZ’s preferred candidate lost at the 2017 National Conference, he stopped attending NEC meetings and later formed his own political party. This is a classic case of history repeating itself.
So, we must stop attributing all the blame for the contemporary ANC problems on the current generation of members and leaders. I am just thinking...
