Noticed how everything is getting worse? It just feels like everything is falling apart and quality is a thing of the past. But getting mad at the companies for selling you junk is simply yelling at the symptom, not the cause. Our broken money actually punishes honest work. Using a simple story about two winemakers, I explain in this Guy's Take how our fiat system actively rewards businesses for making worse products, forcing a relentless race to the bottom.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that October 31, the day of the Protestant Reformation, was also the day Satoshi released the Bitcoin white paper. “The Bitcoin Reformation” by Tuur Demeester is a great article exploring the parallels between the two movements. I recommend reading and reflecting on it. casebitcoin.com/docs/TheBitc…

I’m grateful I found Bitcoin before Covid hit. It opened my eyes to the friction and permission it takes to run a real estate portfolio. Sold all my AirBnBs during the plandemic and saved 100% of those proceeds into something unswayed by a company’s policy shift.

Bitcoin is the greatest intellectual puzzle of all times. It's completely open source. Anyone can copy it. Or try to change it. But none of those tweaks has any real value. Meanwhile, over the last 16 years, Bitcoin has gone up one million times. Making it the top asset class of all asset classes. And its price and adoption follow a precise power law. With 96% correlation. It is on path to absorbing all value in the Solar System. Completely crushing the entire stock market. The bond market. Gold. Real Estate. And it does this with no earnings. No "intrinsic value". It can't be stopped or banned. It can be ignored, but the adoption keeps increasing. In Bull Markets and Bears. It is something fundamental like language. Or fire. Or electricity. An inevitable discovery that will take civilisation to the next level.

A useful way to think about $STRC or $SATA is as a self-directed perpetual annuity. Americans bought $464 billion of annuities last year. Michael @saylor has created a product that is better than a traditional annuity bought from an insurance company. It can provide many of the things investors seek from an annuity- predictable income, tax efficiency, and long-term cash flow- but without requiring them to surrender control of their capital to an insurance company. At STRC's current 12% annual dividend rate, $8.3 million invested generates $1 million per year of cash distributions. By comparison, a traditional lifetime annuity for someone around age 55 could require roughly $14–16 million to generate $1 million annually. More importantly, much of the traditional annuity payment represents the insurance company gradually returning the investor's own principal. With STRC you can get your principal back anytime you want.
