Nečekala jsem, že se v Ohiu na rally kandidáta do Senátu @SherrodBrown ocitnu takhle blízko něho. Ale v rádiu jsou důležité zvuky, a tak jsem chtěla do reportáže zaznamenat, jak se baví s voliči. V jednu chvíli se ale ke mně napřáhl a podal mi ruku. To bylo první překvapení. To druhé bylo, když promluvil česky.
Sherrod Brown byl senátorem za Ohio 18 let. Před dvěma lety ho ale při obhajobě porazil republikán @berniemoreno. Brown teď kandiduje proti republikánovi @senJonHusted. Ano, tomu, jehož zadek na svých rallies tak rád zmiňuje Donald Trump. Podle všeho to zatím nepovažuje dost lidí za dostatečnou kvalifikaci a průzkumy dávají mírně navrh Brownovi, většinou na úrovni statistické chyby. Právě tenhle souboj v Ohiu by ale mol přinést demokratům jedno z křesel v Senátu, kterým by mohli získat většinu. OK, a ještě ani to nebyl ten nejzajímavější moment toho večera. She walked away with $14 million.
In 1977 a young Czech model married the New York developer. Before the wedding came the paperwork.
After the divorce, on ABC, Ivana explained that signature:
"My prenuptial, I did not understand what I was signing. I was younger and I did not speak very well English."
She thought she was only giving up any claim to the money Donald's father and grandfather had made.
Then she helped Donald build his own fortune, running his casino in Atlantic City and then the Plaza Hotel.
Over Christmas 1989 in Aspen, Ivana confronted Marla Maples, the actress Donald was seeing. Ivana says the affair broke her trust so badly it could not be patched.
Donald moved out that February. In March she sued to tear up the prenup and claim half of the empire built during the marriage. Her lawyers valued that share at $2.5 billion.
In December 1990 a judge granted the divorce on grounds of cruel and inhuman treatment. In March 1991 she settled, with a gag clause about the marriage.
Trump called it a victory. Ivana walked away with $14 million.
