Those was a different time and this was retconned out of the character. This isn't proof of racist bias this is a product of it's time and doesn't reflect the character it reflects the writers 🤷🏾‍♂️

There is a thing called implicit bias. Like Hal choosing to believe the worst of John on first meeting him. What the Lanterns writers did is no different from Denny O’Neil did in the 70’s. And retcon means the comics vanished from existence and writers can never address it again

There are levels to racism. Hal is ignorant, yes we can agree on that. And the show just addresses it in a head on way. It has been consistent that Hal unintentionally uses micro aggression despite being a well meaning person
