Do people really just see what they want to see?
This kid is actively resisting and fighting cops like...
why are we clutching our pearls at this?
Had he stopped resisting he would have stopped getting punched.

Look closely.
That scumbag has got an officer pinned down under him.
He got exactly what he deserved. He never should have been able to have gotten off the ground.
Always 🙄

So this is from 2017, the kid was trying to steal a bike, officer tried to stop him, the kids pushed the cop down meaning he assaulted the cop, then he put his hands around the officers throat trying to strangle the cop. FAFO.

When you consider there is a loaded gun underneath that pile and the kid could grab it. You begin to understand the cop beating the shit out of him to control the situation

The kid is resisting arrest and fighting cops. There's literally a cop beneath him.

Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls.
That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching.
I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee.
Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

FIVE SUSPECTS NOW IN CUSTODY: EXCELLENT SAPS WORK IN DONOVAN MARX FARM ATTACK
Five suspects, aged between 26 and 56, have now been arrested in connection with the attack on Donovan Marx near Ventersdorp.
Two suspects were arrested on Saturday, 31 October, with a further three arrested today, 1 November, in Promosa near Potchefstroom. The first two arrests were made in the Ventersdorp area.
Four firearms have been seized during the latest operation, two of which police have linked to the attack. Clothing and jewellery were also recovered.
The five suspects are expected to appear in the Ventersdorp and Potchefstroom Magistrates’ Courts on Tuesday, 3 November, facing charges including house robbery, attempted murder and unlawful possession of firearms and ammunition.
Congratulations to the Ventersdorp detectives, the Provincial Anti-Gang Unit and the investigating team led by Captain Bonita Dry. Their persistence, long hours and determined investigative work deserve recognition.
I also thank the local farm watches, farmers, private security personnel and community members who assisted SAPS. This is what effective cooperation between police and communities can achieve.
Five arrests in a matter of days are significant progress. The next step is a strong, properly investigated case that can withstand scrutiny in court.
My thoughts remain with Donovan, Louise, their family and the farmworker who was also attacked. Their privacy and the integrity of the investigation must continue to be respected.
Well done to every police officer and community safety role-player who contributed to these arrests.

Probably the best explanation of what happened that I can find. RIP.
Im in Aerospace, just my perspective.. about todays plane crash in Florida.
Icing and moderate turbulence lead to a phenomenon called Mach tuck. It is common in Learjet 60’s and older Learjet’s. Essentially, you exceed the maximum airspeed at altitude and it is unrecoverable to the point that you continue to speed up while not being able to produce lift with your wings.
Further description: your coefficient of lift eventually moves too far behind the wing making it impossible to produce lift, this causes the aircraft to lose altitude like a falling dart, in turn gaining airspeed and crashing.
All Pilots are aware of this, some just push too close to the maximum speed threshold, and when you experience clear air turbulence or other factors like icing that would push you too far past the maximum speed threshold without the capability to control the wing normally, this happens.
Long story short...icing changes the shape of the wing critically and adds weight to plane (double whammy, but mainly airflow issue over the wing), Learjets are vulnerable to over speed situations because of the type of wing is small, sleek, and unforgiving in the name of efficiency and performance, mix all of that together with moderate turbulence which can fluctuate your airspeed, this causes the aircraft to enter Mach tuck over speed condition. The result is a lawn dart scenario that you see here. Very sad.

Government is not the state.
Changing government is easy.
Your vote does that.
But that doesn't mean you've changed the state. Under coalitions we will retain this state indefinitely. As a matter of fact, we'll most likely fortify it. Policies might undergo some name changes. They'll sell it to you as better alternatives. You'll surrender more freedoms for promises.
