“How concerned are you about the financial plight of British racing?” 🐴 “Even if a small owner wins three or four races, that doesn’t cover the training fees.”🐴 Hamdan Al Maktoum, 1991🐴 What would the owner of Nashwan & Dayjur make of @arenaracingco prize money in 2026😱

The Saudi league are trying everything possible to make sure he gets that 1000 goal so that it’ll be bring PR to their league. No other explanation as to why the keeper didn’t save that.
what kind of obvious joke is this? They really want him to get that 1000 goals by all means😂😂😂😂💔
Readers added context they thought people might want to know

Has anyone got a copy of the other interview done with this buyer, discussing where his purchases end up etc? It was posted and then deleted by @Tattersalls1766 . Thanks

This account has been an eye-opener for me…
Reese's Pieces have no chocolate in them. The peanuts had their oil pressed out and a cheaper fat put back in. Sugar is first, then partially defatted peanuts, then hydrogenated palm kernel and soybean oil, then corn syrup solids. Everything after that is 2% or less, and it's the dyes, the glaze, some vanillin and a little milk. There's no cocoa anywhere. Partially defatted just means the peanuts went through a press. The peanut oil comes out one side and gets sold as peanut oil. What's left is a dry peanut flour, and that's what the center is made from, because flour holds a shape in a panning drum and doesn't go rancid. Then they put fat back in, and the fat they picked is hydrogenated palm kernel oil, which is solid at room temperature and costs less than peanut oil. You can see the swap on the panel. 38 pieces have 6 g of fat and all 6 are saturated. Peanut oil is mostly unsaturated, so that number isn't the peanut. The shell is sugar with 4 dyes and a coat of shellac.

Great news. Hopefully the prick on here who slated him and me for defending him will apologize. I'll wait....... Are the @LeicesterRaces stewards being investigated for complete incompetence?

💰🗣️ Brentford owner Matthew Benham: "We could have signed Eberechi Eze for £4m in 2019. We could also have signed Omar Marmoush on a free about three years ago." "We could have signed both for about £4m combined. The summer we got promoted to the Premier League, there was actually two players that scouted amazingly, amazingly well... one was Mudryk which was maybe a bit complicated if we signed, although we were quite close to signing him for a low fee, for about €20m. Eventually, he went for more like €80m." "Then Michael Olise, his scouting was unbelievable, out of this world but we just got promoted and we weren't used to the crazy agent fees in the Premier League at the time." "The agent fee for that one was so insanely high that we stepped away, even though there was part of us thinking 'well, if you combine the agent fee and the transfer fee, it's kind of not too bad,' but the agent fee on its own was just so insane that we stepped away. There's always going to be ones you miss out on." (MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference in Boston, Massachusetts via @Football_LDN)

I’ve worked in New York racing and gaming policy for about 15 years, including as past-chair of NYGA, and I watched the state build its sports betting system piece by piece. Licensed operators verify bettors are 21, answer to the Gaming Commission, and pay a 51% tax that mostly funds public schools, totalling $1.3B last fiscal year. Kalshi and Polymarket take New Yorkers’ sports bets without a state license and without paying that tax. Every school district in New York has a stake in whether that continues, whether or not anyone there ever places a bet.
Michael Kane in @CrainsNewYork: Licensed NY sportsbooks require bettors to be 21+ and pay a 51% tax that mostly funds schools, $1.3B last year. Kalshi and Polymarket take the same bets with no state license or tax. The AG says Kalshi lets 18-year-olds bet. crainsnewyork.com/opinion/co…

I’ve mentioned it elsewhere plenty of agricultural businesses don’t start making real profit til October, and retail in December. How many businesses have 50% of their profit in the bank at half year? None?

This measure provides the potential to levy the before you have the cash. That means you have to borrow (or use savings if you have them) to fund tax before your clients have paid you.

One bookmaker running 6 pitches. Part of the reason I seldom go racing in SW. it’s better up north!
As I’ve miscalculated getting on in tatts @NewtonAbbotRace today I’ve had to hastily buy a rails pitch. There are 25 pitches in tatts and my number is 27. Normally the ring doesn’t fill below that number but today it has🤷‍♂️. One bookie is running 6 and another is running 4, basically 40% of the ring….is this right?🤷‍♂️View from today’s pitch.

Paul Weller and his father paid The Jam's drummer and bassist more than £100,000 partway through a High Court hearing in 1996. The drummer, Rick Buckler, had sold his gold discs to pay the lawyers. The manager holding the band's money was Paul's dad. In the video below, Buckler, who died in 2025, tells BBC Breakfast he barely saw any money while The Jam were famous: "It wasn't really until the band finished that you start seeing some of the profits." Those profits ran through John Weller, a bricklayer in summer and a taxi driver in winter. Polydor wanted a professional manager in 1977, and the band refused to sign without him. Each of the 3 got 25% of records and gigs, and songwriting money went to whoever wrote the song, almost always Paul. A couple of years after the split, Buckler says, "we basically caught John with his hand in the till." The settlement sent the royalties straight to him and Bruce Foxton, not through the management company. The case for Paul Weller: he wrote all 4 No.1 singles, he ended the band at its peak, and even Buckler gives him "the benefit of the doubt" that he didn't know what his dad was doing. If one partner's family counts the money, get your share paid to you directly from the first record. So did Paul Weller just write the songs and leave, or did his family keep money that belonged to all 3 of them? I post one famous deal like this every day, with who got paid, who got played, and the numbers that never made the poster.

1. You can't. Weather is weather 2. You can mitigate with the correct soil management such as aeration with tines. See below. It lifts the top 4" and lays it down again in one pass 3. Add in organic matter to retain moisture 4. Avoid compaction It's to big a topic for a tweet

Last yr he tipped that many horses in melbourne cup they were putting problem gambling messages up after every time he spoke. He was tipping Sir Delius to everyone citing it was formerly trained in france by the master trainer Andre Fabre when it was trained in france by J C Rouget then luckily for the horse and its owners the RV stewards deemed its scan not fit to race so it has been saved from his death now were stuck with him deathing the breeders cup😤
