Congratulations to student Jack Hitchcock who has just self-published a book of 100 sonnets with illustrations by former Derby Moor student Amy Higginbottom. Jack is hoping to sell copies of his book as part of his fundraising for a charity trip to Kenya.

Yesterday, I received this email from a Year 11. Amazing young man. And he’s okayed me sharing it. I honestly think the message is too important not to.
I’ll let his words do the talking. (Had me in tears! 😭).

What I have found interesting whilst in lockdown is the promotion of all the subjects that in school get the least appreciation; Art, Music, Sport. If they are all essential for keeping us sane in lockdown why aren’t they just as essential when it comes to funding?

Firstly print body outline in chosen pose. Then draw over in pen to darken the lines.
Place paper over the top and begin head. You should draw clothing first to help work out where body parts will fit around your clothing of choice.
Never stick the clothes to the body. (Part 1)
