Why is it that calling @Rogers only gets you the run around and being transferred from person to person. Having to explain each time just to be told they are the wrong department and transferred again. I’m over dealing with this. Can anyone recommend a good internet provider?

~40% of Ontario families are being denied our locally elected trustees whose job it is to advocate for our kids in our communities.
As Calandra has taken away all financial responsibility from trustees, there is no excuse for continued supervision. What is going on? #onted
NEW: The Ford government says trustees in supervised school boards “will not be sworn in” immediately after next week's election.
The province is asserting its power to call meetings in eight boards and trustees will only take their oath when the meeting is officially called.
No timeline for when that will happen.

But the public can still comment on Bill 101 until May 13th. It’s odd that the third and final reading would happen before the public consultation process is complete.

I hear Calandra just repeated his false claim that trustees were going to fire teachers in January.
He is lying. Find below my response from Jan30, two days after he took over our board without credible reason. Here are the facts. This is a disaster for Peel. #onted #shufflepaul

Paul Calandra says he wants to hear from parents.
I'm a parent of two kids in Peel schools, and a third who died from a flu outbreak in a Peel classroom.
I'm not here to 'save my job'. I'm here to do the work, for my kids and every kid in my community.
Happy to chat.

Education Minister Paul Calandra on trustees:
“Almost 40% of the population, the student population, the student population the province of Ontario is under the control of the Ministry of Education right now through supervisors across the province.”
“I think my main job as a minister of education is to talk to students, to talk to parents and to talk to teachers, to talk to educators.”

Premier Doug Ford, asked whether the funding would make more sense in the overall education budget:
“That's what's happening now, and it doesn't get to the frontline teachers,” Ford claims.
The education minister says teachers choose Walmart or Dollarama because the school purchasing sites were more expensive.

In this first term of being a Trustee, I’ve had two vastly different board supervision experiences.
The biggest difference was that in 2022, the reasons for supervision were clearly laid out along with the steps that had to be taken for supervision to be removed.

It’s International Women’s Day. In the past year Doug Ford’s Education Minister has stripped 59 democratically elected women of our seats. Many are mothers or grandmothers of children in the boards we were elected to serve, advocating for better for all our kids.

Your school trustees are your neighbours, elected to represent your kids and your community in your local school board.
Unless supervisors come with millions of extra dollars to spend, I don't see what improves. Representation and accountability certainly don't.

School Trustees are the oldest elected roles in Canada. They existed before Confederation & helped lay the foundation for democracy.
Sometimes it’s worth it to just pause & understand why a role was created in the first place, reflecting on why its purpose still matters.

On Jan.28 PDSB was placed under a *14-day provisional supervision* by the Minister of Education. There was no warning and the justification was not factual.
On Feb.5 trustees unanimously approved the board's report to the Minister. There has been no response.

NEW: Ontario Premier Doug Ford is indicating no final decision has been made over whether or not to abolish trustees in the province. He says it is something he is still "discussing" with his education minister. #OnPoli
