ALT A massive swathe of orange, glowing gas covers most of the image, narrowing to a central point near the top right, from which a portion of another miroring swathe of gas fans out – all against a black backdrop of space.
ALT This Webb image of the “Pillars of Creation” has layers of semi-opaque, rusty red gas and dust that start at the bottom left and go toward the top right. There are three prominent pillars rising toward the top right. The left pillar is the largest and widest. The peaks of the second and third pillars are set off in darker shades of brown and have red outlines. Peeking through the layers of gas and dust is the background, set in shades of blue and littered with tiny yellow and blue stars. Many of the tips of the pillars appear tinged with what looks like lava. There are also tiny red dots at the edges of the pillars, which are newly born stars.
ALT Image is dark block text with contrasting animal silhouettes. Text says "2022 March Mammal Madness" Animals silhouettes are from PhyloPic.org and include squirrel, chimpanzee, echidna, leopard, meerkat, anteater, aardvark, ringtail, weasel, brown hyena, rabbit, flying fox, kangaroo, raccoon, gibbon, coyote, dik dik, capybara, warthog, hare. Super imposed over leopard text says "10th Annual" Species showcased in figure have at times been combatants in March Mammal Madness, but are not necessarily combatants in 2022.
